Ok so we had his appt yesterday. First of all the last two weeks he has been miserable.I think its teeth but really I have no clue.He almost completely stopped eating solids, even his favs. He is down about 10oz of milk a day. Not sleeping at night or during the day very well. Then yesterday, he woke up with a runny nose.
Ok so his lenght is fine 27 inches, so he grew 1.75 from his last appt. Head was good too. ...... now u know what I am gonna say next. Weight.... not so good. Doc still isnt worried very much... yet. He said its not quite to the worrisome stage. But that makes it sound like he is slightly concerned now. He weighed in at 16lbs and 4 oz. Now since his eating has taken a dump, I have bee weighing him nightly for the last two weeks. On Tuesday he was 16 lb 10oz according to my scale ( checks doc scale is 2oz off from mine, he weighed 16.6 right after the doc appont on my scale) so regardless, he is losing weight. The doctor said to continue my weekly weigh ins at home and if he loses any more weight to call him. I mean really, this is beyond ridiculous. I mean I get if he is teething and it would hurt to eat, but really, I feel like I am force feeding my child. He never ever acts hungry. I am going to call around on Monday and find a 2nd opinion. Doctor says he is great with his milestones, and is agenerally happy baby. but he is starting to get concerned, but not enough to see us sooner than his year appt. Ugh. I get it, I am a small chick, DH is a small guy. I get it. But I dont understand how a baby never wants to eat. Sorry this turned into a vent. Right now, we are feeding him as often as we can to hopefully spark an interest, and adding an extra scoop of formula to each bottle for some extra calories, but again these are my decisions, not the doctors. But he is ahead on his milestones, so i am grateful for that.
Oh and he is now off his growth curve and the bottom of the growth chart
