Maybe this is nosy, but...

What do all the SAHM's do all day long with your LOs? I feel like Logan and I are in such a routine over here... 7am get up and eat then play till around 9am. Then a nap. Then wake up and repeat and repeat and repeat until bed...! Sometimes we go out and run errands etc, but mostly, its just the endless cycle... is that what it is like for everyone else?

I am so used to working all day and although I LOVE being home with Logan and wouldn't trade it for anything- some days I feel like I get nothing done around here (since I am playing with him) and its like I am living Groundhog Day- the same day, over and over! I am excited for spring/summer to come so that we hopefully do more...

Yeah winter can be like that...Im actually dreading it!!!! Ive got 2 kids to entertain all winter this year!! ARRRGGGGHHH!!!

I find that I only get stuck into house work one day a week...you know like cleaning bathrooms etc...everything else like washing etc is an everyday task, boring but has to be done...

Spending time playing with your kids is the best thing you can do for them, but then they also have to learn to self entertain just a bit, so I make sure Im not ALWAYS entertaining them...IYKWIM...

We have a place called Pohutukawa playhouse, its like this http://www.lollipopsplayland.co.nz/index.php
Its a great place to take the 1+ kids but they also have a babies area too, so I will be spending a few days here with mates and their kids this winter I think...

I also take my kids to baby gym once a week...And then I try to go visit friends with kids too, none of my friends have babies anymore tho they are all Liams age now...but its good to get out of the house, change of scenery and toys etc...

Since I have a 2 year old too we go outside all the time or to the mall play area if it's cold out. Unfortunately, we live in an apartment so we don't have a yard for him to run in. The only thing that stays the same for us is lunch around 11 and naps afterwards. The rest of the day usually varies. I'm really bad about cleaning and always have been. I usually do a quick clean up before DH gets home and try to keep the kitchen fairly clean.

I actually wish I had a better routine for them, but because their needs are so different right now I just don't think it's possible.

I feel the same way, I'm home (or at least not at work) all day long, but I never feel like I've accomplished anything. I don't get a chance to really clean the house until DH gets home so he can entertain Izzy, but then again he's helpful and half the time he does the tidying then.

We don't have a real schedule during the day though. Some days we play here at the house, many days we go to MIL's house in the afternoon, we stop out to the family office to visit Daddy, and we run errands a couple of times a week. There's usually a morning nap, lunch with Daddy, and an afternoon nap, but not at specific times.

Spring is finally here though, and the past few days we've been lucky enough to get outside and enjoy it! We've been taking hour long walks or more, and playing in the sunshine. Next week when we get back from our trip I'm hoping it's dry enough for her to get in the grass and play--with all of the snow melt off it's pretty soggy yet.

Whatever you do it great! Babies are fine as long as they are loved! You are all doing a wonderful job!!!! Love being a part of a group who loves enough to be concerned about how they are spending their time with the babies!

I work from home but my day goes like this:
get kids ready for school, get dressed, give them all breakfast, take them to school
Then J has a nap and while he is having his nap I clean and tidy the kitchen, put a load of laundry on and check my emails and do some work. The he wakes around 10.30 and we usually go to playgroup or for a playdate. then at 12 he has lunch and he is back down around 1-3. This is my biggest working srtetch(which was why it was so important to get his naps straight early on!) At 3 we pick the kids up at school and in the afternoon he plays with the kids and we drive to the kids ballet/football etc... then dinner and sleep. Smile

It is definitely tricky with just one under one. Once he hits one there are more things - like drop in centres, play centres, activities etc. that you can take him to.

Do you have him enrolled in any classes? We go to a mommy and me type class every Thursday. We sing songs and connect with other mom's. Colin LOVES it! He chats, rolls around, claps and is just generally happy.

It's way easier with another child because you're trekking them around to classes and activities and keep a lot busier.

Now that the warmer weather is here try going to the park and chat up other mom's!
