teeth and more!

So this last week tommy has cut 4 teeth! Holy crap! He had I think 4 ot 6 teeth at 12 months. And 5 months later he now has 14! He also learned how to open doors- we didnt exactly think ahead in buying door handles vs door knobs when we put new doors in a few years ago. I think he has also grown 1.5 inches since sept. But the tantrums in the last week, are testing my patience. He is so strong willed, I swear we have entered into the terrible 2s- 7 months early!! I think he is starting to get frustrated not being able to communication very well. Hope his talking happens soon- for both our sakes!
Whats everyones LOs up to?? I know its the holidays and everyone is super busy. Hope everyone is having a great Holiday so far!

Oh my gosh...teeth has been our thing too! Colin has cut 6 teeth in the last 6 weeks. An eye tooth and molar on each side, 2 down and 1 up. He's almost ready to cut the last 2 - they're right there, just not through the skin. It's crazy looking in his mouth now!
We had a couple of weeks of nightmare-ish behaviour - clingyness, snot, fever, etc. but that seems to be over and he is back to being a ham. I love the chatter and laughs and games.
The only thing that is bugging me a bit is the lack of words. He definitely talks a lot, but everything sounds like dada. He tries and sometimes I pick out things, but there's a lot that I just don't get. He's also using his signs more than I'd like...if I tell him to say more he'll do the sign rather than speak it. I'm not overly concerned, mostly due to the random chatter that he comes out with - even now he'll say "mama?" and I'll say "yes Colin" and he'll blabber on about something...just nothing coherent.
He's good about not needing door locks though - or really getting into anything. He's awesome with the stairs...which is great for going downstairs to the basement to play with his sister, but not so much going upstairs on the hardwood stairs - they make me really nervous.

Anyways, that's about all that's up with us.

Sara - I do remember the terrible 2's happening early with DD...maybe around 20 months though. I read a book called The Happiest Toddler on the Block (same author as the Happiest Baby on the Block) and found it really helpful to get into their head, understand where the tantrums, etc. are coming from, and how to prevent and deal with them. I've been using some of the techniques already with Colin Smile Good luck!

Thanks for the reminder Julie. I did want to get that book since well, since I was preggo but havent remembered. I will check that out this week. And I am there on the words, we Have: mama, dada, nice, baby. The jibberish is pretty non stop here. I stopped trying to understand. If it sounds similar to a word I repeat it back, lately I have been repeating dog, juno (the cats name) and other little odds and ends.
Poor Colin and the teething as well!! You would think they have roughly 2 years to get all their baby teeth, why do they need to come in large groups all at once? I cant imagine how much that must hurt! Tommy cut his top two molars this week and the two top eye teeth. I hate teeth!
