Potty concerns

Mickie will NOT wipe herself without being reminded EVERY time...I can't be with her all the time, and her teacher cannot follow her to the potty everytime, so most of the time, she is not wiping...what to do?

I remind her before and after each time, but it's not good enough for me. Any tips?

The only thing I can think of is to try to make it more exciting somehow. Do you think she'd be more likely to wipe if you bought some of those Kandoo wipes and REALLY played up how special they were before you gave them to her? Sorry I'm not of more help.

We do the wipes already at home, but at school it's just TP, and even with the wipes, the little song I made up to go along WITH wiping, etc...she just doesn't remember. I don't want to start giving her candy for remembering, but we're almost to that point...

She's 3. She'll get it in time. If it helps you aren't the only one. Half the time the girls come out of the bathroom with their pants around their ankles because they are too busy thinking about the next thing. I swear every other trip I'm yelling GET BACK IN THERE, WIPE, FLUSH, AND DON'T COME OUT UNTIL YOUR PANTS ARE UP!!!

Their reaction is generally something along the lines of "oh yeah... wipe" or they demand help. Frustrating, but apparently not that uncommon.

Now if I could just get the youngest on board with the potty thing life would be golden!

Well-I broke out the reeses pieces last night...so far so good...I told her she can't flush until I come in the bathroom, just to make sure she's doing it for real. Her teacher is on board too...packed the pieces in her backpack. We'll see how it goes.

Wow! I like looking at your guys' siggy pics. Your LO's look so grown up!

As far as wiping goes... I don't have much advice. The only thing I can think of is to resort back to providing an immediate reinforcer (like you started doing again). Hopefully this will help reinforce the behavior and she will go to doing it on her own without a reinforcer soon.
