What is your 3 yr old like?

I bumped into a girl I knew when Leia was months old. She asked me 'what is she like now'? I didn't understand the question, but she meant is she cheeky, naughty, laid back, easy going....

So what are your LOs like?

Leia is cheeky. If she wants something she'll be like 'get me a tissue for my snotty nose' and if I tell her to get it herself, she will laugh and say 'noooo, YOU get it for me!'

She is the same if she is doing something she shouldn't be doing, like last night, she kept standing on the arm of the chair and turning the light on. I spoke sternly to her and told her not to do it again and to get down. She just stood there laughing her head off.... until I put her on time out.

She's not naughty, the only time she will play up is when she is bored.... she's actually a funny character and has been in stitches but that cheekiness can wind me right up!!

Aww, what a cutie, she sounds like a strong minded little thing! Ava is going through a super polite phase, it's awfully cute. Lots of "Mummy, can I sit next to you, please?" Before she does anything. And today, she was putting on some shoes I bought her weeks ago, and she said "Mummy, you bought me these new shoes! You got them for me! Thank you." Sooooo sweet. She also tells me off for putting my elbows on the table, coughing without covering my mouth etc. She's generally just a really nice, happy girl. She acts up on occassion, like any 3 year old. We have our share of tantrums and anger that seems to come out of nowhere, but for the most part she is such a good kid. She's pretty stubborn, we did a trampolining course recently and whenever the instructor told her to do anything she'd tell her "No, I'm just going to jump!" But she comes by that honestly....

Sounds about right Kristi! Grace is a split personality! lol One minute is polite, sweet and very mushy. The next she is demanding, rude and a troublemaker. She's super smart and curious. Mostly of the time she is good but when she is bored or doesn't get her way look out.

the first thing I thought was insane and evil, lol, but no, he sounds just the same as everyone else's 3 year old! He likes to tell me "no, you do it!" a lot. And today I told him off for touching the tv screen, and then I cleaned it. 5 minutes later there was a hand print on it, so I asked him about it and he said I must have missed a spot when I was cleaning. Cheeky! Anyway, he's been spending quite a bit of time in his room for being naughty lately. But on the other hand he can be really sweet and funny.

Kade is by far my most challenging child at the moment. He is a firey red head who is quite impish and loves to push the limits. He loves his siblings and always tells me that his brother and sisters are his best friends. He and Bentli and particularly sweet together and he loves to be a helper. He hates to go to bed at night and gets up a million times, begging for more snuggles, songs and prayers. Love this kid!

How adorable! Does she say it in a little posh British accent? That would melt my heart haha. I am constantly reminding Leia to say please and thank you. She will be sat next to me with her juice cup literally by her side and be like 'I want my juuuuuice' in a whiny voice. If I'm not telling her to get it herself, I'm saying 'I want my juice.....' waiting for her to say please lol.

Yes Beth, this is Leia to a T. I'm struggling with her taking me seriously! Like when I put her on time out, she will sit there laughing her head off.... until she realises I am serious and then she'll get upset. It's the laughing that fuels my fire though, I can't help but think the cheeky little mare! lol.

This is one thing I can say about Leia, she knows what she can and can't touch. She pushes it sometimes, going right up close to the TV because she knows it winds her Dad up LOL.

Aww how adorable! I think this is what Leia needs, a sibling. I know she would care so much for a baby bro/sis.

Callie is another split personality. She can be so sweet, cute, kind, and polite, but then she can flip into a bit of an imp. She'll purposefully do things that are slightly naughty, or refused/say she can't do things that you DO want her to do! Thankfully, she's usually the good personality!

Generally the girls are all well behaved and helpful... generally.

Elly is the instigator most often and Mia is the over-reactor/drama queen. She "CAN'T" do a lot and says she "NEEDS HOLD" or "NEEDS CARRIED" when she gets in a mood. Where Elly just ignores you or talks back when she gets in a mood. We count when they are acting up. This morning Elly asked for milk, but I let the dog outside first. As I'm walking to the kitchen to get her milk I hear "Mommy you better hurry up right now! 1! 2! 3! 4! NOW!!" lol

Mickie is very empathetic to those around her. She is very much a caretaker. She picks up on peoples moods/attitudes, and if they are out of sorts, she asks them what's wrong, and tries to comfort them.

She has taken a little girl in her class under her wing, and hovers over her to make sure that she doesn't get upset, and if she DOES get upset, Mickie wraps her arm around her and says, "It's okay sweetie, everything is going tobe okay..." This little girl is autistic and very low functioning. The teacher says if Mickie weren't there, she would go crazy trying to keep the peace between that little girl and the other kids. Mickie herself told me that she likes to play with ______ b/c, "...she doesn't have a mouth-uhhmm, no, she has a mouth, but she doesn't have any words, so she feels sad alot. I make her happy!"

But it's not just that little girl. If I am tired or feeling a little off my game, Mickie will come up and ask me, "Mommy, you don't feel no good? Do you want me to play with your hair and kiss your face, would that make you feel good?" And the answer is generally, "YES!"

I have honestly never seen a child this age as tuned-in to those around her as Mickie. She has a special gift for reading people.

She is very sensitive herself too, and when she and daddy get in a tiff-oh Lord-she'll give him the silent treatment until he begs her to tell him what he did wrong! All in all, she's a great little girl, very dramatic and hilarious to boot!!

Thomas is very sweet most of the time. He loves to snuggle, and still climbs in my bed at some point in the night just to be near me. He loves to play with his cars, and not much else. He has to be the "winner" at everything- we're working on that one. He's coming out of his shell at school. He's a lot of fun, and is really well-behaved when we go out somewhere. He has me laughing all the time, being silly and cute. This is definitely a fun stage.
