Halloween Pictures! Post! Post!

We were a housefly family...an interpretive housefly family, anyway. (at her cousins' house)

With her cousins, about to go trick-or-treating (that's a ballerina, a maggot, an owl, and a witch...sorry, wiggly children at night do not make the best photo subjects!)

Here's our little owl enjoying the dancing at a local halloween party.

Oh! That little owl is precious!! That is not a store-bought costume, and that makes it WAY better than ours! - Lame Amazon costumes.

Leigh- I'm eating my salad here, and nearly choking at these pics! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your fly family! I'm repeating this to DH and I used the word "maggot" and he said. "Gross. Sick-os" This makes me love you more! I love your sense of humor!

I'll post later. My camera sucks and I have to pick through all the blurry shots. Sad

I love them both! Cute idea for the maggot (hysterical actually, way better than just cute) and I loooove the owl!

Ok so I need to explain Mieka's. First we were going to be the Golden Girls but then we didn't really have any plans so I didn't want to go to the effort for me and DH. Then I decided she was going to be Annie Hall. Then about a week ago I went into a panic because I realized she might be a tomboy (which is fine by me) in which case I'd never get to see her in anything ridiculously fluffy (which I need to see just once). So I was like, fine, I'm going all out with something as pink and fluffy as possible. And the idea of the flamingo was born.

So now DH and MIL and my parents can never complain that I don't let her be girly because they have enough fuscia to last them for a lifetime.

These are looking huge, even though I resized them...

This is the one piece of candy she put in her mouth. She asked for bacon instead. Weirdo.

Drew, on the other hand, was a sneak. He shoved 2 pieces of chocolate in his dump truck, before DH or I noticed. He was the Hulk, but without the headpiece that he hated, it was hard to tell.

Halloween is by far and away my FAVORITE holiday. No religious or political overtones. Just having fun.

Cute!!! You guys all look adorable.

Addy spent the whole time we were trick or treating eating an apple...but we didn't give her a candy option Smile

Good for you, Leigh. I keep reading studies on how sugar affects toddlers' brains. Awesome stuff, but a little scary too.
The candy we collected remains on top of the fridge. Sam doesn't eat candy..or ice cream..or cake. Not because of any miracle nutrition education, but because she is a strange kid. She eats veggie chicken, yogurt, bacon, peas, cheese and those Z bars (organic Cliff bars for kids). That pretty much sums up 80% of her entire diet.
Drew on the other hand will eat anything. ANYTHING. Thank God for a non-picky child.

We took Hailey out trick or treating to a few houses on our street. She loved holding the little pumpkin bucket and each time someone would put treats in, she would dump the bucket, look at what fell out, then put it all back in.

I may be bias, but I'm pretty sure she is the cutest bunny I have ever seen.
