What type of shoes is your little one wearing?? And would you suggest them?
Addy has outgrown her winter baby shoes and since she's not walking yet she's just going barefoot for the time being. I've heard that babies shouldn't really wear shoes except for foot protection (not great for foot development), so once she is toddling around, I think I'll be mostly sticking with the soft-soled ones like Robeez until she gets a little bigger.
DD1 wore shoes all the time when she was little and walking around..(hard soles or the walmart ones that were half and half.)
DD2 cant fit into the hard sole ones....her feet are too chubby... so we did the soft ones and now she has been wearing crocks(?)... i love them and they are not heavy...
Stride Right only
No shoes here just yet. I just ordered Becca some Pedipeds, which will be her very first pair of shoes. I love Robeez (Becca's feet are too chubby for them though.) Pedipeds work well for us. My 4 year old still wears the Flex styles. I also do a lot of Stride Rite with my girls, but only the super soft pre walkers that don't really have a sole at this age. My girls have all had either really narrow or really wide feet, so we always have to buy better brand shoes.
ITA with Leigh, babies do better barefoot. I actually had a discussion with our Physical Therapist about it, and she wishes they would quit selling hard soled shoes for babies, because they need to be barefoot or in very, very soft sole shoes to strengthen the tiny muscles in the bottoms of their feet when they are learning to walk. She said they should not be in hard shoes until a few months after they start walking.
So I guess it's a good thing that Ainsley's a total punk and rips her shoes off the second I put them on her.
We'll keep John in Robeez until the snow starts in October/November.
Ivor seems to need the support offered by soft leather shoes with rubber soles, so when he's doing his walking he wears his Clarks, which are good because they have a huge range of width fittings. He has a wide foot (UK size 3 G). He's in these ones at the moment:
The rest of the time it's just the soft leather ones to keep his socks on, or barefeet if it's warm.
Stride Right mostly she was fitted for walkers but we also have Pedipeds, converse, addidas, nikes and gap shoes she's walking all over in anything and everything
You guys are great!! Thanks for all of your comments!!
