Poor Tommy has had a bout of diarrhea for a little over two days now. Thankfully he's still eating and acting like his normal self--there's just TONS of poopy diapers. I was used to changing a poopy diaper 2 or 3 times a day; now it's like every other hour. Plus we've had a few blowouts (nothing major--but just enough to obviously change him).
I called the nurse on Saturday and she said to give him a little Pedialyte (like an ounce or two), which we've been doing. He doesn't have a fever and he's still peeing normal--it's just the nonstop poopy diapers! I don't know how much of the nutrients he's absorbing because he poops it out so quickly. I wish there was something to do to stop it but I think it may have to run its course.
He has his 2 month checkup on Thursday. Maybe the pedi can tell me if there's anything else I need to do. BTW not looking forward to the checkup and the shots he'll be getting. Have a feeling that will be a long day.
