Baby furniture

We are in the process of moving to a new house and trying to decide what furniture goes where. DH is keeping all of his baby furniture because we bought things that would grow with him (convertible crib, dresser for changing table, etc.) Baby girl will be getting a new crib, but I'm having trouble deciding what to about everything else.

I have a bedroom suite from my childhood that has been in our guest room. It is a white wrought iron double bed and wicker desk, dresser, hutch, and mirror. The pieces are a little worn, but they could be touched up with some new paint. The biggest issue is that the dresser is only 29" tall. I had thought I'd put a changing pad on it, but I'm 5'7", and it just seems a little too short. My son's dresser is 32" and never bothered me. 3" doesn't seem like much, but I could imagine after a week or two of 12+ diapers a day, it could wear on my back. Anyone have any thoughts about the height for a changing table? I feel a little wasteful wanting to buy new pieces, but it would be nice to make the room all fresh for DD. Am I just looking for an excuse to buy furniture, or do you think I'm right to be concerned about the height?

It does sound like nice furniture! Could your DH build and paint a little platform to set the dresser on so you can conveniently use it as a changing table?
