UGH! this sucks....

So today I finally called the dietitian because I have had a really hard time keeping my sugar level under 120 after breakfast, I thought I had this done til a few days ago it spiked again. Then after dinner it is all messed up too, I didn't even eat the amount of carbs I'm allotted and still spiked which has also been happening a lot lately. I was already told if I couldn't get the morning under control they would want to put me on insulin. My carb limit then is only 15 grams so pretty much 1 piece of toast with of course eggs or other protein but really I cannot eat that everyday! (I tried for a week) One lady said insulin and the other said the pill (can't remember what it's called) but really it's up to my ob. I'm just so upset I have tried so hard to keep this under control and it seems no matter what I do I'm doing something wrong and I don't know what that is. Sad I guess I will wait til tomorrow when I can talk to my ob and see what she says. Thanks for reading ladies.

Ugh. Sorry. Hope they can help you figure it out so you don't have to take the insulin.

Oh Crystal - I wish you didn't have to deal with this - it can be so frustrating! 15 grams is hard to stick to and I know toast/eggs get old FAST! It's not much of a variation, but you could try 1/2 of an english muffin (the kind with the 'extra' fiber work best for me) or 1/2 of a bagel thin (at least some of those have different flavors). You might want to try adding some protein - egg and cheese for example - sometimes extra protein helps me when my numbers are off.
I know the idea of meds stinks, but it really does give you more control. The pill they're talking about is probably something like metformin - it helps your body use it's insulin properly/more effectively.
Try not to stress yourself too much - you can do everything right and still have odd numbers - the more the placenta grows, the harder it is to control your blood sugars. There's no blame to be found there - it's just the way this all works!
I hope your doctor can help you tomorrow!!

Hope you get it figured out so you don't have to take anything.

I don't blame you for not wanting to take any meds, but it may be worth it so you can eat something other than eggs and toast :/ I hope it gets under control without the meds tho!
