WTH?

LOL- like my title? So, I got a little (ok a lot) desperate today...just felt like I couldn't do this pregnancy thing anymore...sooo...I took 2 tbs. of mineral oil mixed with orange pop. (My grocery store doesn't have castor oil and I believe they are essentially the same- or at least give off the same effect) at around 8:30/9:00 am. Got a little nauseated and had some mild contrax. at around 10:00 ish. That's it. Nothing more. I didn't even need to use the bathroom once. Ok strange, but whatever. So a couple hours ago I took a walk with my boys to the park and since we got back home I've been having some stronger b.h. contrax. (shocker! right??? lol) I had this incredible urge to (ahem) use the facilities. I got absolutely NOTHING accomplished. I sat on the dang toilet for about 45 minutes with nothing to show for it, lol. I mean, really? HOW can I be constipated after taking something that is supposed to make you poo your brains out!? I'm feeling quite uncomfy and "bound up" so to speak...so I grabbed one of d/h's Pabst Blue Ribbons (no idea why he bought that- as we normally drink Miller Lite) and am enjoying (or not) a Pabst. For some reason (when I'm not pregnant) beer makes me poop. So I hope this will at least help clear the bowels. I must be quite the site. 38 weeks pregnant bouncing on my birthing ball drinking a Pabst. WoW. Just thought I would share. Hopefully someone can get a laugh out of this...it's been quite the day.

E.T.A. : I know not everyone is ok with drinking alcohol during pregnancy, so I hope I didn't offend anyone. I've (personally) always felt comfortable having A beer or glass of wine at the end of my pregnancy- but I do know that not everyone agrees with this. Just wanted to throw that out there---

Well, I am sorry to laugh at you, but I did!! hahaha

Maybe tomoro it will kick in and you will go straight into labor! I have thought of taking caster oil, but I cannot even think of it really without wanting to puke. (BTDT! And it never helped!)

I have not been constipated this whole pregnancy (maybe slightly every now and then) and it is really surprising to me, since usually I am - bad! Blum 3

So. You will have to KUP tomoro and we'll see if any of that stuff helped!! (LOL!)

All I have to say is good luck. I can't believe you drank that. Yikes. My stomach is turning thinking of it, but I guess when you get desperate.... I hope something kicks in for you soon!!

LOL, thank you for that Smile Pabst Blue Ribbon on a birthing ball is about the funniest picture ever in my head. And don't worry, I'll probably get hard up for some relaxation and have a beer when the time is closer.

LOL! Well, I'm sorry that the castor oil didn't work...I know I've had more than my share of constipation problems during pregnancy (as well as before it) but thankfully lately I've been decent. I found that what helped me was the off-brand Miralax once a day and then some fiber pills. It's not immediate but it worked after a few days.

I also have no issue with enjoying an occassional glass of wine or beer, but I don't really drink alcohol even when I'm not pregnant--never cared for the taste and it always makes me super drowsy. But the image of having that on the birthing ball is a bit comical Blum 3 When Grace is old enough, be sure to tell her that story--she'd probably get a good laugh from it Smile

You know what!? It wasn't NEARLY as bad as I thought it was going to be...I just put a tbls. in a glass with crushed ice and added orange soda (pop where I'm from) mixed it around and slammed it down like a shot. (I did plug my nose though) Then I took another of the same. I think it helped that I didn't add a lot of pop to it- just enough to shoot down in one big gulp- so it didn't prolong the nastiness in my mouth.
Maybe b/c it wasn't actually castor oil? I've never tasted castor oil before so I don't know the difference as far as the taste between Castor and mineral, but I found the Mineral oil by the laxitives and it said on the bottle to take 1-3 tblsp. for constipation...so? I don't know. Maybe there is a difference in taste.

Just feeling kind of- ehh. Tired. I think it's b/c it's such a rainy, gloomy day here. No action...I did have a few good contrax. this morning...but never turned into anything (big suprise there...) soooo...I guess I keep pluggin' away. Today is looking like a great day to spend on the couch in front of the tube. Although, I'm contemplating taking the boys to Mc Donalds for lunch and to let them play in the playland there/tubes. They have soo much energy and it's never a good day when they can't run around and let it out. Little worried though...I don't think I can fit through the tubes anymore (nor do I want to try) and sometimes d/s 2 gets "stuck" and scared and I have to rescue him. That would be quite the site...someone would probably have to rescue me, lol.

LOL. Good question. I was talking about the oil, but now that you mention it...can't say I have ever had a Pabst, but always seemed like it would taste terrible for some reason!

Jenn I so know how you feel, lol the other day I took some castor oil mixed with a few things, it took a little while for me to suck it down...not long after I was in the bathroom. I was thinking wow that worked fast but then come to find out I think I came down with the virus my youngest had which involved diarrhea and vomiting, so needless to say all the oil did was make the diarrhea worse lol. Absolutely no change in the contractions I've already been having so I give up and am just going to wait for this little girl to arrive on the 24th!:)

LOL! I drank a glass of wine twice with each of the girls. I haven't with this one because I figure it got enough alcohol at my brother's wedding when I didn't know I was pregnant (whoops!).

I've never done the castor oil thing... hmm, maybe this time? I'll wait a few weeks though, boo.
