2 weeks until NT scan...

and Im feeling panicked that something is going to be wrong. Im so scared there wont be a hb. I think Im so nervous because:
1. My symptoms have backed off a bit...ms has eased and Ive been feeling ok.
2. My doc warned me early on that my chances of a mc are double those of a younger mom.
He said everything was fine last time, but I feel really worried. I just can not wait until Nov 30th when I have the scan and then Dec 16th when I have my surgery. Once that is over....my worries get much less until the end. I actually felt fine about things until like yesterday..and then for some strange reason this irrational panic started settling in. Probably because I dont feel like puking all day any more. Only in pregnancy would feeling good make you feel worried!! Smile I pray time goes fast through the holiday!!

I know how you feel! My scan is next Tuesday (finally less than a week!). But I've had such an easy time of it this pregnancy compared to what I went through with DD, I just keep thinking we'll get there and there won't be anything to see. But I also feel like it's a whole lot of irrational fear.

We'll both make it... and I'm pretty sure we'll both see beautiful babies once we get there!!!!!

I completely understand! Until I get through my 12wk high risk screen, I don't think I can settle down and be comfortable. At least I had an ultrasound at 6wks and saw the heartbeat or I'd be a complete wreck.

My scan is on the 30th too. If it makes you feel any better, my MS has almost totally gone away. I still occasionally throw up or feel sick, but it's nothing regular or hard to deal with anymore.
I always get super nervous for the NT scan, and the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. I just want everything to be healthy and normal. I have a doppler at home and check for the hb pretty regularly.... like, every other day or so. That has been a big help with my nerves since my MS and fatigue are easing up. Hang in there!

If I had a doppler and were able to get the hb...I think I could settle down! I wish I bought one years ago...I would have totally gotten my moneys worth out of it!! This baby will probably be it...so Im not sure it would be worth it now! I wish I could just hear the hb!

You can just rent one if you only want it for a short amount of time. With DS1 I rented one for $18/month and only used it until I could feel regular movement... so really only 2-3 months. I don't remember the website now though... My dr. also rents them out right from their office. You could ask your Dr. if they have any spares laying around Biggrin

Understand, 100%! My NT scan is the 29th and I keep thinking that baby has somehow stopped growing in there. Especially now that I'm not sick all day long. Stupid first trimester!

((HUGS)) I'm sorry you are anxious!

I asked the MW to find the HB when I was there on Monday just to ease my mind, too. I still get sick every morning, but feel pretty good throughout the day. My symptoms are easing up, too (less tired, not crampy, etc.)

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you!

Declined all testing, including NT scan. Good luck with it though...it seems like most everyone is having it done.

be careful with the gender reveal so early...I know often they are right...but I did have 1 time that I was told a boy at my early scan (14 weeks given 85% chance) only to find out she was 100% girl at 20 weeks. I guess her parts were not totally formed and her little umm her one little girl part looked like a little boy part because the rest of the girl part had not formed around it yet...catch what Im saying? It only happened once...Ill never forget...because I cried like a baby when they told me she was a girl at the next ultrasound...it evened our team to 3 and 3 at the time...and I was OVER the moon ecstatic!! My OB sonographer is amazing. She has told me twice at 12 weeks, and would never predict if she wasn't certain. I asked her last time I was there, and she said she's never called it wrong, as if in doubt, she won't say.

Thanks for the warning though!

smart not to say if they are not certain. Mine told me she was not certain but thought, like I said there was a 85% chance that what she saw was correct. What kind of study are you in? That is so cool to be able to get so many ultrasounds!!

The study is called PRISM and it's PRegnancy Investigation of siblings and Mothers of children with autism. My first born has mild PDD-NOS so we are at higher risk of subsequent children being on the spectrum. This study will be looking at testosterone levels and rapid brain growth in the foetus, as well as closely watching the baby in the first year for early signs.

wow that is pretty cool! They think there is a link between rapid brain growth and spectrum disorders? That is one disease that I wish they would get some answers to. The increase of kids with it....amazing over the years. Good luck with the study...and good luck with the gender! Are you thinking blue since you have 2 girls..?

I am actually really hoping for another girl. Not only do I adore girls, (boys are a bit foreign to me- I had no brothers and 4 sisters) but there is much less chance of getting a girl with ASD than a boy. Odds are 1 in 4 for a boy, and 1 in 9 for a girl for us.
