39 week apt

Well I'm actually 38weeks 5days but my dr are shocked!! I am 4-5cm and 50% thinned out shejoked with me do you want to go now?? I didnt respond because I want a natural birth and I perfer not to be induced. They said I might just go tonight and if I have one contraction then to go right to the hospital! They made me nervouse about having this baby at home or on the way to the hospital! Everything else looked good. Might get to meet my little guy soon!

How exciting! Already half way there! I never understand why they try to push induction so much on women who are dilated/effaced a bit more... you'd think they'd just wait it out... seems like the easier option.

Well still here today only thing that happened last night was my hubby waking me up to check on me. He wants me to go get induced and is very nervous that I will go fast since I'm already 5cm. I think baby is happy and warm where he is at!! I figure if I made it to 5cm with no pain maybe they other half will be a breeze!!:) Oh and my original due date was June 9th if you went by my LMP but ultrasound said June 16th

Wow! I'm beyond envious you're dilating Smile I wasn't as of yesterday.
So yes, sounds like you may have a fast labor!
Don't let anybody scare you- and don't go get induced just because you're dilated. It will happen and you'll get to the hospital on time!
Good luck.

I would think being so far along dilation-wise already would be a good reason NOT to induce! Sometimes I think doctors are so crazy, lol. I guess an induction would almost definitely work, but WHY do it? Obviously your body is doing just fine on its own without any kind of help. Yeesh. But yeah...if you start having contractions you better get in the car Smile Maybe have your hubby read up on how to deliver a baby but of course you can always call 911 if you have to. I have read that babies who come that fast (too fast to make it to the hospital) are usually just fine and there are no complications (if there were, it wouldn't go so smoothly and quickly).

I was one of those babies 2 weeks early and in the back of a ambulance and still in my sack . My dad was a EMT at the time and delivered me. CRAZY I know and my mom had no pain during labor. He got his medical kit out just to be safe and I have been hanging out at his house mostly. I am taking it as a blessing by now with my son I was in a ton of pain and at the hospital.
