Anybody leaking already?

My boobs have been making colostrum since about 3 months pregnant, but tonight my boobs felt "funny" and I took a peek and they're full on leaking! I squeezed the nipples gently and more came out! Eeek! I'm a little weirded out. This didn't happen last time.
Anybody else leaking?

I'm still nursing, so I'm not leaking...but when I was expecting DD I leaked for the first time at 20 weeks. I woke up from a nap to a pea sized wet spot on my shirt... and after that I often had just like a bit of crusty, dried up colostrum in my bra- but it never leaked enough to be embarrassing in public or anything (thankfully that nap I took was at home!).

ETA: I will add that my boobs look bigger in the last week or two, which is weird because I'm pretty sure my milk is finally all gone, and my boobs hardly changed when I was pregnant with DD- like from a normal B to a small C, maybe a full C when engorged. So... Boobs are a mystery to me. Smile

I've been leaking very small amounts for about 3 weeks. I didn't leak at all during my last pregnancy.

I've never leaked. I bought some nursing pads just in case but I think I had two days with mastitis and thats the only time I needed them last time.

I never leaked with DS and haven't yet this time either. I heard some other pregnant women talking about waking up with wet spots on their shirts the other day and was like "what?? That happens?" Every once in a while if I think about BFing I get that tingly sensation but as far as I can tell nothing has actually come out yet.

Yes! I started a few weeks ago, it's sporadic and very light. I've noticed my nips getting sore again.

Funny you should mention this.. Just last night I was watching tv with DH wearing pajamas and a sports bra. I got this tingly feeling and went "seriously?!" my right side soaked right thru both my bra and shirt. About a quarter size but still it was inconvenient. I guess it's bra pads or no more sports bras for me. Yay. Lol

I have little crusties at the end of each day.....nothing big and wet, but enough to leave a mark inside of my bras. Smile

Once my milk comes in I always leak out of the opposite side when I let down.....kind of annoying!

Yes! Me! I'm leaking! I started leaking around 28 weeks! I never leaked with DS (or even had much of a cup size change with him), so I was thrilled to see some colostrum a few weeks ago! I wasn't successful in nursing DS, so this is giving me hope the ladies are gonna work this time! Smile I'm not leaking much, just a few droplets in the morning and some crusties at night, but nothing crazy!

Pretty much the same for me. All of it!

I am just a little. I agree with the boobs being a mystery! With DS1, I started leaking BAD around 20 weeks. Like, I had to wear nursing pads or I'd leak through my shirts. My boobs barely grew during pregnancy though. DS2 was about the same, but not quite as much... still very little growth during pregnancy. This time, I hardly leak at all, but my boobs are at least a full cup size bigger (that's not saying much as I have VERY small boobs. Hopefully I have no supply issues, because I need to stock up on the frozen milk!

Glad I'm not the only one who's producing. I was literally freaked out when I saw how much milk/colostrum is just waiting in my boobs! Guess my body is totally getting ready for baby girl.

I have the exact same problem. Crusty yellow colostrum on my nipples and I always leak a tonne from the side I am not feeding at. Thank goodness this usually stops around 3-4 months. It's annoying that my shirt is always soaked.

Those of you that leak from the opposite side that you're nursing on... have you ever tried to apply fairly decent pressure (with your hand) to the leaking nipple/boob? I definitely have the same problem, but it can be stopped by applying pressure. A little tricky (though not impossible) to do in public discreetly... but, at home it works like a charm. Smile

No leaking...that I know of but every now and then my breasts feel "tight" and then a a few mins later they release. Getting ready, maybe? I am trying to prepare myself with knowlege because this is the baby that WILL breastfeed! Smile

I'd be worried about getting clogged ducts by doing that. For me it only happens in the early morning, usually while I am still in bed and in my pjs. I just change.

Well, that gives me hope! I was beginning to wonder if I would produce any milk at all since I don't see me leaking everywhere. My other two babies didn't get much milk due to low supply and tiny mouths.

Never had a plugged duct (in two+ years of nursing)... and when I mentioned this method at an LLL meeting recently, a whole lot of mothers nodded and said they do the same... so I'm not sure you need to be worried!

I have never leaked during pregnancy...and have nursed 7 of my 8 kids for at least 12 months...most more like 15 months...so dont be worried about not leaking and having it have anything to do with success of bf!! I will say though....the key is to get the baby latched on correctly!! You do that...and you will produce! Smile With my #3 she was not latching on correctly and we knew she was not getting quite enough because it was taking a little too long for her meconium poop to get out of her system and I was not getting engorged which said I was not producing a ton....and the lactation consultant saw me once got the latch correct...and voila! Success! You can do it!!

I use Lansinoh pads when I'm nursing-- especially when I'm at work and randomly let down during meetings and such-- I think that the Lasinoh pads catch the most and discreetly. Wink Though I'm intrigued by that product that lets you capture the milk you lose and feed it to baby....

I also never leaked during pregnancy with my first few babes (and went on to nurse them all for at least a year....) I think this time my boobs are just so used to feeding. I just totally weaned Lexi a few months ago--lol.
