We still haven't decided on a name. We've tossed around a few but nothing is settled. I think we'll just wait and see "who" he looks like when he's born and go from there.

Love the name Abrahm (we thought about that name!) - and I like Ryan Abrahm the best Smile

We're way out from being in agreement. I like Konnor, he likes Jacob, we're kinda settling on Alex, but no middle names at all yet.
I like Ryan Abrahm too.

I like Ryan Abrahm as well. We are not settled on a name. I thought Mia Rose was going to be it....but I am getting some major friction from my oldest daughter because she dances with a Mia who is a teenager and is the most emotional dramatic person at the studio. She cries and throws fits and kind of acts like a 2 year old even though she is 17...so Madeline thinks of that girl every time she hears the name Mia and therefore she doesnt want me to use it!! I know that Mia vaguely...but she is the ONLY Mia I know personally....and like I said....she is a teenager...so I like it. A lot of my other names....I know friend's kids who have the same name....and I dont know if I want to do that!! So hard for me!!! Hopefully I will come up with something...but it just might have to be Mia. Madeline told me she will call her Rosie if I name her Mia Rose Smile

We have decided on Emilia Lynn. I want to call her Emma for short. It sounds the same as Amelia when you say it but I like the spelling better so I could call her Emma and my 4 year old wants to call he emmie

Mia is a beautiful name! If I based my choice on the other people that I know I'd end up having to make a name out of bowl of alphabet soup. Its reassuring that I'm not the only one still up in the air. I jus feel like this is such a big deal and I'll feel terrible if he hates the name we give him.

and I can be the person to say make sure you are sure before you leave the hospital (at least in US and more specifically if you happen to be in NY) I had my son Will and named him Walter William with the intention of calling him Will (both family names) and after we got home we realized at doctor's appointments and everything they would call him Walter and it made my skin crawl!! I called to see how to flip flop the name....ended up having to go to Court...which I had no idea what to do...so I hired a lawyer...and $1000.00 and a few months later...my son had the name William Walter so I didnt have to worry about the confusion of it all!! What a major pain in the butt and expensive!!! Smile Lesson learned...be sure of the name before you leave the hospital! Smile

I LOVE the name Abrahm. Our friends named their son that, and I was always jealous that I didn't think of it first! We have barely talked about names. We usually wait until we're almost done to talk about it. So far, I like:

Henry Lee B(2 syllable last name), William Lee B, Henry James B, or William James B, and Louis/Lewis is simmering on the backburner - I LOVED Henry at first, and now I'm thinking he feels more like a William (Will for short, def. NOT Bill). I can't get Lou out of my head because that was going to be my girl name (Lucille/Lu) and I LOVE it for a girl. It's just not the same for a boy though.

Lee is MIL's maiden name, and James is FIL's name, and also the name of a really close friend that passed a couple years ago. DH is an only child, so I thought it would be nice to include his side of the family in the middle name.

I prefer Ryan Abrahm, but only because I'm not a fan of the nickname Abe.

We've narrowed it down to Finn Hudson or Blakely Ashlynn ( mix of Ashley- my sister in law abd my middle name/ Lynn- My mom and MIL and other SIL middle name. It covers all the ladies in our family)

I found it super hard to decide when not knowing the gender. My other two were so easy to name.

i chose jayden ray from the get go with full intentions of just spelling it different if it turned out i was gonna have a girl. the youngest kid on my dh side (which is my great nephew) is named kayden and since my dads name is raymond jay i thought itd be a nice spin off but cute too.

Thats crazy that you had to go thru all that to change the name.
With my ds I named him Aiden jack. But as soon as he could talk he said his name was Jack and it has just stuck. He will answer when someone says Aiden but he will remind them his name is Jack Smile

With my dd I had her in Florida and before her first bday they sent me paperwork incase I wanted to change her name because it had to be done before a year old or else you have to go thru the courts and a bunch of other things. I thought it was kind of funny.

For boys' names I like Abram, as Ryan seems dated to me. I also LOVE the name Henry! It's a good solid name!
And by the way, we don't have our baby girl named yet. Not by a long shot Wink

the "abe" thing....make sure you keep it in mind!! Not that I dont like Abe...I think its cute...but do remember it may become the nick name. Even if you do NOT want a nickname for a child...sometimes the kids at school have more control than you do...and it can happen. My oldest Madeline...became Maddie (completely against my will...I did NOT want that nick name for her) and another friend of mine had an Abigail...and she did not want her to be called Abby...well guess what...she was abby to everyone at school! Smile

I also like Ryan Abraham. Ryan, in my opinion, is a great name. :). Plus, it flows well that way.

We settled on a name a while back. When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I just felt it when we found the right name. I always went back to Jordan and so did my husband. This time, I kept going back to Nora. Her middle name is going to be Alice after my DH's grandmother. She passed away in October, just days before Nora was SUPRISINGLY conceived. None of the cousins have used either of her names yet so it all just fell into place.

I like both! They're both solid names that have been around forever, and will never go out of style! So I don't think you can lose either way you go!

We've decided on Samuel Anderson. Anderson is my maiden name, so we're going to use that for our middle name. We'd toyed around with Anderson Matthew for a while, but we both ultimately leaned towards Samuel moreso. Who knows, maybe when we see him for the first time, we'll change our minds back to Anderson. Wink

I am a sucker for Hebrew names, as I've found out, so I really like Abraham! Great choice!

You're all so creative, they're really great names. and I lovee the name Henry! it's been on the top of mine and Nick's list since day one but it seems everyone in both of our families thinks it's terrible.

The other day I ran into a friend of mine who'd recently had a son and she named him Gary.. this baby does not look like a Gary. So that's what has brought on my name panic.

If we were having a boy my all time favorite name is Oliver. It is my grnadpas middle name and he passed away right after christmas. My MIL said she really didnt like that name at all. I told her good thing she got to name her own kids because she picked a name I dont like for both.

We had Gavin picked out when I was pregnant with my son and when we found out I was having a boy I thought I don't really like that name anymore but I guess all the hormones made me change my mind again. We are set on Gavin and my father is picking out the middle name. I wanted something family based but don't really like my dads middle name (Noble) so I told him he can pick. He likes Gavin Isaac and my mom likes Gavin Michael so guess we will see.

I like both ways for your little boys name. That's a tough choice!!

We have ideas for both a boy and a girl, though nothing is really decided for sure. We'll wait to meet the baby. Smile

As for OP's name question- I think I like Abrahm Ryan better, but mostly because I do like more unique names and Ryan is just so run of the mill. That said, I'll be honest and say that spelling of Abrahm left me kind of choking on the name (not quite able to spit it out)... I guess it's not a spelling I've seen often, and I really wanted to add in another syllable/vowel sound. But it is a nice name- especially if it has some religious/cultural significance to you.

Kayla, my BFF who is basically due at the same time as me is probably going to name her kid Nora if it's a girl...but I think they are going Nora Jane. I can't help but think of Nora Roberts when I hear the name... but I like her books. Smile

Oh, and I really like the name Henry as well- but it seems to be getting very popular lately!

I like names that have nicknames (cause my name is too short for one and I've always wanted one)- but I agree you gotta be ok with all the nicknames (especially the popular/obvious ones) that come with any name. That is one issue we have with one of girl the names we like- my DH says he doesn't like the nickname for it- but I love it. So...yeah...gotta keep thinking! Smile Or see if he can come to terms with it.

I like Ryan Abrahm best Smile

Obviously we have our name, haha... Lucas was not MY first choice but I chose DD's name so DH got to choose his. Lucas was his first choice if DD had been a boy as well. It grew on me and now I can't think of him as anything else, especially after meeting him. He has been called Luke already but I expect it and don't mind.

We've had Maxwell Carter R____ picked out for awhile now (meaning BEFORE Jessica Simpson announced her daughter's name lol). I'll just call him Max.

I never met a Ryan I didnt like!!!! Smile (And who wasnt cute...lol.)

Im doing Rose-Lynn for my little gal. Both are family names. The only thing we had trouble deciding was one word or two words (we disagreed). The compromise was hyphenated.

I love the name Abrahm. It is beautiful!

We have no name and I'm not sure we'll settle on one for a while longer-- Lexi didn't have a name for more than a week.....so I guess we're in no rush. Another perk of a homebirth, we get lots of time to decide upon a name. Smile

LOVE the names that everyone has picked. I'm with Audra - no names over here yet. I have a few on a short list, but it is ever changing. My husband is pretty traditional, so we'll see what we can come up with!!

I wish! This is going to be the one downside to our homebirth... we need a passport for our baby within about 6 weeks time- which means we need a birth certificate and I think a SSN asap. All that paperwork is streamlined when done in the hospital- but they basically MAKE it take longer when you home birth. Sad So not cool. So, we'll be submitting our paperwork on the first business day after baby is born, so we need to know names right away!
