What's going in your bag?

What's going in baby's bag?

My last was born at home, but for my hospital births I didn't pack much. Here, at least the hospital has all you need for while you're there.

For myself, I packed clothes to wear home, toiletries, camera, flip flops, my own pillow, a few snacks... That probably about it.

For baby, I just brought a going-home outfit and a car seat Smile

I haven't thought about it much yet. Maybe I should?

My bag - Some comfortable PJ's, toiletries, camera, phone, charger, pillow, bras and breastpads... I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

For baby - Going home outfit, cloth diapers, wipes, spray, wetbag... Maybe a headband or two for pictures.

Why do I feel so relaxed about this stuff??? Last time I remember feeling so much pressure to have everything ready.

For baby: couple outfits, mittens, and blanket

For me: comfy pants/shirt/socks/bra, camera, phone charger, pillow, toothbrush
-last time I packed more toiletries and didn't even use them since I went home pretty quickly

The Doula is bringing snacks/drinks to sneak me Smile

Kayla - I feel the same way, much more relaxed this time! I haven't even started packing any bags yet, last time by 30 weeks they were done it seems. Ha!

Ugh. Another thing I have to do! *insert screaming and then laughing and then more screaming*
I am SUCH a procrastinator and all this is catching up to me!
OK:
Me: Toothbrush, conditioner for my hair, face lotion, perfume (makes me feel pretty) comfy clothes, nursing bra, nursing pads (just in case), makeup/toiletries bag (already made up I use it for traveling), i-phone, phone charger.
Husband: Our nice big Cannon camera. If we don't pack this we'll just be snapping i-phone photos and those aren't the best quality.
Baby: I'm packing her coming home dress, which I have yet to knit. ARGGGG! :0) An extra outfit. I was told last time not to bring clothes as the hospital has everything for baby, but this wasn't true. They didn't have much, she wore the same outfit two days in a row.
I'm bringing her a special blanket. That's all I think.

I still need to get all the clothes out of the attic and wash them along with the new ones. I finally started cleaning out the dresser we are going to use yesterday. I haven't even ordered a crib yet but we have a bassinet for the first couple of months. I DO have a car seat! Wink

For me- comfy sweat pants and tank tops and a comfy short robe and big ugly undies that can get ruined and thrown out and shower things .Plus my camera and my kindle so I have something to read when I am wide awake in the middle of the night since they like to poke and bother you as soon as you think it is safe to sleep.

for baby- 5 or 6 onsies and 4 sleepers. They said to bring your own onsies and things for the baby to the hospital but I am guessing they have stuff there becasue if you didnt go to a class at the hospital you wouldnt know to bring anything. I am bringing a couple different pacifiers cause I really want this baby to use one.

I haven't packed mine yet, I know labor takes a while and I'm going to stay on the conservative side since we'll only be there for like 24 hours.

Baby's bag will have a couple outfits, a blankie and ofcourse the car seat. The hospital should have everything.
For my bag I'll pack my toothbrush, camera, cellphone and charger, clothes and some snacks for nick and I. Smile

Oh gosh, I've had a list drawn up forever, I just haven't started packing yet! I did start a little collection pile of my things in the nursery, but it's just a few things. I didn't have a bag really when I went into labor with DS (didn't think we'd be having a baby then!) and I felt so lost without my stuff. My parents brought me my things once they got into town, but I plan on having it all with me this time!

Me: nursing bras/tanks, yoga capris, sandals, slippers that can get dirty, socks, toiletries, hair dryer (none at the hospital - ugh that was the worst! My hair dries insane without it being blow dried!), camera bag (I'm a photog on the side), phone/charger, nipple butter JUST IN CASE ;), and snacks for DH.

Baby: Coming home outfit, muslin blanket, car seat.

I was just thinking about this while I was driving to school. I haven't packed mine or really thought about it yet. I'll probably just bring a bag of toiletries and a few tank tops/hoodies/sweats. I'm going to try to get out of the hospital ASAP, so I am not planning on packing much. For the baby, we'll just bring a couple sleepers for going home and a car seat. I need to get a bag packed for DS1&2 for when they're at my parent's house, but again, it's not really something I'm stressing about. Maybe I'll get all that together next week once school is done for me and our floors are finished (we're refinishing our wood floors).

My toiletries bag is already packed. I bought mini sized stuff of my toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, hair spray and moose. And then bought duplicates of my antiperspirant, soap, toothbrush etc. Nursing supplies... lanolin cream, nipple shield, nipple sucker thing to make my nips stick out since they aren't very pointy lol, breast pads etc. (I was in the hospital for 5 days last time so I'm packing for the long haul just in case lol).

Now there is less for me to remember when the time comes. Biggrin (Have to add in my hair brushes, eye liner, extra towel etc lol).

Then I'll add in my cellphone, camera and laptop chargers (and cell phone, camera and laptop lol).

Spare clothes.

Coming home outfit for baby and maybe a diaper or two.

I plan to bring yellow Gatorade for while I'm laboring. Maybe some other snacks or drinks. Dunno what else...

I know I should pack a just-in-case bag...but I seriously have no motivation! I might throw an extra outfit for myself and baby in a bag... The thing is, our hospital is only 15 mins away, and we have plenty of people around that can bring me stuff if we do end up transferring...so yeah... I'm just not really that worried. I swear I didn't use most of what was in my bag last time.

You know, funny thing about the baby clothes... I brought baby clothes to the hospital last time (more than just a coming home outfit), but then the hospital gave us their own gowns and stuff and for some reason I ended up using them instead of my own... and then I realized how much cuter DD would have been in pics and stuff if I had put her in the stuff I brought, instead of the kind of old grungy hospital stuff. Oh well.

My gym bag is what I'm using (since it's been neglected the last few months, bwhaahaha) and the toiletries are already packed. Since I learned last time that you don't get to pick how long you stay in the hospital, I'm packing for a week. My family *sucks* at following the basic instructions for finding things (or I suck at putting things back where they are supposed to be) so I'm bringing everythign I could want. My pump bag will be packed and left in the car JIC nursing doesn't go well again.

I was told to bring my own towel as their's don't cover your butt, so a

Bath Sheet
Boppy
Pillow (theirs are crap!)
2 nursing gowns with robes (work people will try to visit as soon as baby is born)
2 nursing bras
1 sleep nursing bra
3 nursing tanks
5 pairs of underwear
5 pairs of socks
2 dresses
Slippers
Lanolin
Nipple shield
Nursing pads (disposable and reuseable)
Hot rollers
Pads with wings
*will get tossed in on the way out
Makeup
Laptop
Kindle
Camera

Baby:
Newborn diapers-25
Pack of wipes-seventh generation
4 0-3 month sleep gowns with attached mittens
1 take home outfit with bonnet
2 swaddle blankets
2 receiving blankets
4 newborn onesies
2 hats
2 sets of mittens
2 pacifiers
California baby wash and lotion sample

*Adding Dh a toothbrush after reading thread

eta- I'm *more* anal this time than I was last time about stuff.
