Calm before the storm?

I keep checking in over here to see who has gone into labor, but it's so quiet! It kinda feels like the calm before the storm! My family (including myself) was all sick last week so the kids are going to the sitter a few days this week so I can relax a bit and finish up any last minute nesting projects. Baby is welcome to arrive at any time, but I would kinda like him to wait until after Friday (not that I have any control over that).
How is everyone else feeling?

I would like this baby to be born on Saturday. Smile Or it's due date (the 6th). So yeah...trying to get through this week. I am starting to get very excited for birth and baby's arrival, so, I'm glad today is already Tuesday. Smile On Sunday I kept thinking it was Saturday, and yesterday, I kept thinking it was Sunday. Tomorrow I have a midwife appt which will be DH's first chance to meet her- so once that happens, then I think we'll be all set for having the baby. Smile

just waiting. I feel that it is near but I have 6 more days until my C-section. I want it really on Thurs (hubby's bday). Also, want him to arrive a bit early because I really don't want the C-section again. But, I know that he will come when he comes...patience, I guess.
Just lower back pains, occassional cramps, and I am officially waddling due to a pitiful and sore tailbone. Pre-op today (last appt!)

I have no feeling like this baby is comming before her date so I have two full weeks left!
My dd who is almost 3 has strep and a double ear infection so I have not been sleeping at all and my ds who is 4 just got over a double ear infection and a respritory infection. I feel like I live in a petri dish full of germs. I am so annoyed by all the stupid parents who kept sending their sick kids to preschool and reinfecting my poor kids. The really annoying thing is the moms do not work. They are stay at home moms and most have nannies and they still send their sick kids instead if keeping them home for a few days. uugh. So baby needs to stay in till everyone in the house is healthy and I can reclean the whole place!

I have a strange feeling it will be this week, but I totally suck at predictions. I've had increased contractions and discharge including big chunks of the plug. When that happened with DD, I gave birth within the week. I'm going to a Carrie Underwood concert tonight, so he has to wait until after the finale...otherwise, he's free to come whenever he's ready although I could use another week or so of just me and DD.

OOoh, Rebecca... you're losing plug already!?!? You're the first to mention that around here! Smile (On my last BB we were all obsessive TP checkers, and talked WAY too much about what we saw there, etc! But I'm pretty sure we all got a lot of good laughs out of sharing about our craziness on our BB!)

I can't get over how right now life just is how it is... we're all just waddling around dealing with what is normal...and any day now, things could just get turned upside down by the arrival of a new person!

Is it sad to not really know if I am losing my plug after two children? Sad

The concert sounds exciting! Your LO might even enjoy the sounds and vibrations!!!

I'm finally ready! I've never felt so far away from my due date though. I'm so jealous of everyone being closer than I am. Blum 3 I check on here every day to see if any little bundles have arrived yet.

It is super quiet on here! I too have total mucus plug envy Sad
All weekend long I've been really active and busy with my husband and daughter. We finally Named our new baby girl!! Finally got her nursery set up in our room, picked out and bought her coming home outfit. Then I've moved on to our entire second floor and totally rearranged all the furniture and done deep cleaning. I made and froze three loaves of banana bread and finished up sewing projects.
We went hiking and to the beach and hosted a BBQ.
...and I feel like I will NEVER go into labor. I'm so discouraged. I was contracting with every step I took all weekend long, but nothing, not even a mucus plug has come loose. So I give up. I'll be pregnant in September, guys.
My husband and I have been having lots of sex, but otherwise I'm not going to try to make anything start. Baby will come when she wants, and I suspect she likes it in there and will stay for months. Sigh...

I almost started a post about it but didn't want to be over-the-top TMI Smile it was bloody too, which I hear is "good". DD's wasn't so I figure at least something is happening up in there!

Can you believe it's already that time? I feel like we were all just announcing genders, doesn't seem possible that birth is right around the corner. Weirdly enough, I am so excited for labor this time...my doula is super encouraging which helps.

I've never had any experience with losing my plug... labor just started last time and was kinda out of nowhere. This time I've been having contractions a LOT. Sometimes they get really regular, but never progress into anything. I think today is the first day that I haven't really had any, but I've been sitting on my butt all morning. I'll be out running errands later so I'm sure they'll kick in again... hopefully they're at least making some change in my cervix. Since I'm negative for GBS this time, I'll probably ask for a membrane sweep at my 39 week appointment. I know it's a little early, but I start school again at the end of August and I REALLY want to have at least 8 weeks with baby before more crazy is thrown into the mix.

I have no idea if I'm close or not! At my appointment last week, my OB said he'd definitely see me for the next 2-3 weeks (based on the measurement of my cervix at the u/s) , but who knows! Your cervix can change so fast! I had some more contractions than I normally do over the weekend, and some more discharge off and on, but it's always clear, so I guess that's not my plug. Contractions have been quiet today, so who knows! I had DS at 36 weeks exactly, so this is the most I've ever been pregnant! Lol I feel like I'm on borrowed time! We'll see. While I am aiming for anything after the 7th, he can safely be here anytime after Thursday.

In short, I have no idea how I'm feeling, except that my pelvis hurts so bad when I get up, and I'm waddling like a big fat man!! Wink

i had a close call the other day...thought i was leaking fluid and with it being so fricking hot here it brought on contractions but after going to the doc. my fluid is still in place, cervix looks good too so they were able to calm things down with hydrating me and telling me to relax.

i found a car signed for it and all so after i pick it up, this baby can happily show anytime!

I feel like I still have until my due date or so. I've never had a baby come before 40 weeks-- so don't really expect this little guy any earlier than June 16.

I've been super busy and doing lots of physical things (still going to the gym, took a hike yesterday, moved big boxes/rearranged furniture, etc)-- I'm definitely contracting more frequently, but I doubt it is doing anything.

I have lost bits of plug this time-- which is a first for me. I've never lost anything until I was in full blown labor-- and this time I've had some random chunks of mucus plug, but I'm pretty sure it means nothing--lol.

Have fun at the concert, Rebecca! I saw Carrie Underwood a few years ago and it was great! Enjoy!

I'm really surprised there haven't been more babies! We are all really close to our due dates and there have only been a handful of early birds!

I'm not due until the end of June, so I likely have a while yet, but I do think this one will come before its due date... Only time will tell though!

My husband left Tuesday morning for a week. But it's not 7 days guaranteed. It's just "about a week" based on when they can route him back home (he's a trucker). So I don't want to have this baby this week. I hope he stays nice and comfy inside me until June 5th-ish.

I haven't had much action going on anyway. Just some twinges here and there and a few pathetic contractions. (Maybe I used up my share of early contractions between 30-33 weeks lol that's when they hit a high). I do feel lots of pressure and heaviness in my pelvis. Not really a problem except when I get out of bed.

I have my 38 wk appt Wednesday at 3:30pm.

Seriously ladies, when is one of you going to have a baby around here? Smile I keep checking this board to see if any babies are on the way yet. It's already June 2 and only two babies (and those were both early birds due to mom's health)?? Unheard of. It seems like most of you are due toward the end of the month, so that must be why. Good, I'm glad everyone is fully baking their babies! But I'm ready to read some birth stories Smile
I'm technically on the July board because my due date is July 2, but I would be shocked if I make it to then, so I think I will have a June baby. I feel like I could go into labor any day to be honest. I'd like to make it to 38 weeks though (June 16th-ish). Anytime before that and I won't be ready yet!

I KNOW! But I feel like this whole website is totally dead! It's really weird. I don't know why, I love it.
Anyways I'm due on Wednesday and there is NOTHING to report over here. NOTHING. I give up, and plan to be pregnant until September Smile

still nothing here either and i'm due friday. however i have felt odd all day. i've felt the baby really down low and at certain times where i get a crampy feeling like my water could break. a few of which stoped me in my tracks but no real contractions. i anticipate i will make my tuesday appointment for a growth check ultrasound and the appointment right after to discuss what options they'd like me to have. i'm not complaining though, the longer kiddo cooks the better!

No more contractions over here either... which is fine. The nesting and cleaning frenzies have been out of control for me though. This morning I woke up, unplanned, at 6 to dye my hair, shave (I haven't REALLY shaved in months), and polish my nails. Then I did all the laundry... and then I cried for a while, and I'm not sure why. I'm done with the hormones!

I love this---"I woke up early, did a whole bunch of productive things, and then cried for a while for no reason." Ah, pregnancy!

Aw, I hear you on the emotional part (sounds like most of us do!). Almost there!!

AFM...I keep having BH, some are a little painful but nothing to write home about. I freaked myself out most of the night because he wasn't moving, even after I would shake him around. I was so close to getting the doppler out but decided to wait. Woke up and he was moving fine, I think he was sleeping good! This is the most I've been pregnant, DD came at 39 weeks exactly...but this little boy is holding out.

I don't know if any of you follow things like this, but there's a full moon (second "super moon" of the year) tomorrow night! There have been a ton of studies done on how the woman's menstrual cycle correlates with the lunar cycle. In short, ovulate with the full moon and menstruate with the new moon. I won't bore you with all of my nerdy factoids but my menses has been within two days of the full moon since I was seventeen and several studies have significantly proven this link with natural childbirth.

I have a couple tips if anyone's interested in trying. Sleep in total 100% natural darkness. Absolutely no electric lights. Get plenty of sunlight during the day and open your blinds at night. Your melatonin levels along with the gravitational effects of the full moon might just put your body in the baby poppin mood. Wink

Very interesting about the full moon! I'm curious to see if you go into labor because your body seemed to be so in tune with it before. I'm not holding out much hope for myself... I'm sure I'll go past my due date like I did with the other two.

Well, I have a feeling mine will be closer to the next full moon. It will put me at 42 weeks. There's a debate going on amongst my close family, we'll see! Smile

Ooh...that full moon thing could work for me, maybe! Just because I feel ready to go, and it will only be 2 days before my due date.

I've read one study that says their theory is that the moon’s gravitational pull effects the amniotic fluid in much the same way as it effects the water in the sea, rivers and even the water that’s otherwise found in our bodies. As a woman’s body prepares for natural childbirth, the amniotic sac becomes distended to the point where it will easily burst if put under pressure. Under normal circumstances, the pressure of labor contractions bursts the sac. During a full moon, the pressure caused by the moon’s effect on the water inside the sac can cause the same things to happen.

"Mother nature" is absolutely fascinating. I can't wait to see what happens this week. Smile

I hope it works for some of you! During the last supermoon, my mw practice had a ton of births. My mw was exhausted at my appointment that week! But I have to say, I better not go into labor myself. I need a few more weeks, please.
