Who here has a fur baby they love? Share a picture!
LOL-- we have THREE fur babies.....
One dog, Sophie. She is 11 and is the most amazing dog with children. We so adore her and I don't know what we'll ever do without her. She is the most patient, loving, kind dog ever (though she does eat tissues out of the bathroom garbage cans!) I know you can never trust a dog completely, but in 10 years I've never seen her so much as show her teeth or growl at anyone, ever. The kids lay on her, read to her, climb in her, dress her, etc....and it is like she enjoys it! This is Lexi with her when Lexi was about a year old....
This is our kitty, Daisy. The kids saved up and pooled their money two years ago to rescue her from the shelter. She is also great with the kids (lets them dress her up, rides around in strollers, etc.....) Great little kitty, and she sleeps with Taya every night.
And last month we acquired another baby. Our second DD, Callie, saved her money for months to buy a hamster. So we welcomed Fluffy to the family. I'm sorry to say I have no photos of Fluffy-- she is a sweet not too stinky hamster--lol.
We have a dog named Roscoe who is our fur baby. I will try to get a pic up later. He is a 3 year old Yorkie mix and We just adore him. He is truly part of our family!
Funny timing on this... my ILs just called yesterday to tell DH that his dog died. She was a 12 or 13 year old Malamute (BIG dog) and had lived a long, good life. Poor DH has been crushed though.
We're not going to get any more pets until we settle down in one place. I had to leave a cat behind when we left Latvia who was the best cat I had ever met EVER. It was very hard to do. So yeah, no more pets for us for a while.
Aww sorry about DH's dog
We have 4 furbabies, ourselves.
These are older pictures, just what I had already uploaded to PhotoBucket.
This is #1, our first animal as a couple and DH's baby. His name is Mick and he is a complete cuddle bug, very sweet and loving.
This is #2, the friend we got for Mick. His name is Pantera and if you could see him from the day we adopted him to now, you would never know he was the same cat. He was on death row and had already been brought back to the shelter THREE times. I guess he just needed the right family. He is also super sweet and loves to bat his head on yours for a face rub.
This is #3, the dog we adopted when we moved into this house in 2007. Her name is Corie and she is also very sweet. We just had tumor removed from near her spine and today found out it's a bad type of tumor and will most likely reoccur, so we're very sad around here. Right now she's in good health and happy, so that's all that really matters. Here is her as a puppy.
and now, #4. This is Joie. We adopted her in 2008. She is a very, very sweet girl. She loooooves people. We adopted her because I just couldn't pass her by... she had the same scared look as Corie did when we adopted her, plus she was a border collie, which Corie is too, in part. This girl loves to have her toys thrown and to be petted.
Bonus pics because they are so cute and I can't help myself
I love seeing pics of cats and dogs being sweet together! DH is a dog person, and I'm more of a cat person, so I said someday we'll get one of each at the same time, so that they can grow to be great friends.
Mara....:( sorry to your DH.
Here are ours....a 150lb Great Dane (1 yr old) and a 10 lb Dachshund (12 yrs old). I have to be honest, the Great Dane has been a challenge for pregnancy and will likely continue to be for a baby/toddler. He is very sweet but just doesnt understand his strength and size. And he still weighs more than me..... But...that said, my 6 year old DS LOVES him and gets a bunch of pride from having the biggest dog around.
Ariat (she's also the one in my avatar):
I rehomed both of them between Thanksgiving and Christmas though. My daughter's allergies just kept getting worse even with medication, limiting contact, not allowing the dogs in the living room or bedrooms. It just wasn't enough. I had them for 4 years too.
Here's our three fur babies.
This is Roscoe...if I did it right...its supposed to be Roscoe as a puppy and then a more recent shot of him hanging out with my son Nathan!
Nick and Charlie at his very first vet appointment.
These pics are too cute.
Daniel and his bunny he got this past Easter
