Got a new car tonight!

We have been looking at options which can fit 3 car seats as my current car couldn't do it. Test drove the Jeep Grand Cherokee tonight, and we were so impressed that we bought one on the spot! Very exciting Smile

That *IS* exciting. Congrats! We had a Jeep Grand Cherokee back when we "only" had two kids and we loved it....right now we're trying to figure out our next vehicle. We have a mini-van and a Tahoe (which seat 7 and 8 respectively....so we don't *need* a new car....) But there are times I'd like more room.....and we need at least one 4 wheel drive vehicle bc of the snow and mountains here-- and we like our Tahoe bc we tow a big camping trailer in the summer.....

What fun to get a new car!

That's awesome! I love car shopping..

Currently, I have a small sized SUV and It's going to be cramped back there for all three car seats! So now it's looking like we have to get a bigger car (3rd row type), sometime before this baby comes.

Very nice! My in-laws own one that they love. We will have to upgrade when/if we have baby #3. I could probably fit 3 car seats in my car but it would be very tight!

AWESOME! My neighbor has one and loves it!!! Congrats! I like those!

We are car shopping too. My problem is we *will* have 2 car seats and a Great Dane. So we need lots and lots of room to fit the "whole family." Sheesh. My husband is pushing for the Mercedes 350 BlueTec. But as we already have a fancy Mercedes, Im hoping for something more humble. My favorite at the time is a Ford Flex. 3 rows, but still a larger station wagon type, versus minivan or SUV. Something tells me he is going to win though. Sad

Is that the Mercedes GL350? We were so going to buy one, but we were worried about the maintenance costs. Then I decided I didn't really need to have a 7 seater, so we went with the Jeep. I took all my car seats in to play with configurations, and it works beautifully- and I keep my boot space!

I drive a Honda fit so was excited that it wasn't twins because we would have been shopping too. I love Jeeps. Dh drives a liberty. They just feel safer than other vehicles to me. Congratulations!

My friend bought a Honda Pilot Ex-L about a month ago and it's really nice. It's LIKE a luxury car because it has leather seats, heated front seats, navigation/bluetooth, backing-up camera, etc. And it has 3rd row seating. I really like it!

We have a Chevy Avalanche Truck. It has a full quad cab. 3 car seats will fit just fine back there. Although we're only working on #2 lol. It has navigation/bluetooth. We bought it used so we didn't get to pick heated leather seats. That would have been nice though because we get lots of snow where I live.

Wow, I'm jealous of all you and your big cars. Here in Laos, there is no option for financing, so we had to buy in cash (maybe some of you did too, and if you did, then I'm VERY impressed). We have a VW Golf! It's tiny (and like a 98 I think), and will just have room for the two seats. But the likelihood is that we will not still be living in Laos by the time we have a third, so we'll be elsewhere buying a different car anyway. Smile Oh, and, never mind leather seats or anything else... this car doesn't even have CUP HOLDERS!!! Yeah, it's old. Smile

Mara, three kids is a whole new ball game when it comes to car shopping. I love the choice available when you only have to fit two car seats in!

Oh, I totally get, that especially when you have to fit in three car seats, not just three kids, you need a big car. I'm just saying I'm jealous anyway. Cause your cars sound nice, and mine is old and really simple. Smile That said, it seems like there are a whole lot more choices for cars that can fit three seats these days than there used to be! I guess it's something to look forward to eventually. Smile

Yup! I know.....ack maintaining. What does the Jeep get for MPG? Maybe we should look at that too. One of the pulls to the GL350 was the milage for the long trips to our house in Quebec. These SUVs can be brutal on the environement (and the pocket) if you really want the size.

Mara-- our cars are older. I refuse to have a car payment-- so we pay cash for cars. I love that we don't have monthly payments, but sometimes it is hard not to get jealous of the beautiful newer cars. We drive a 2002 and a 2005....and while our Tahoe has all the bells and whistles (leather, heated seats, XM, etc....) it also has 165K miles--lol!

Trey and I joke about the 12 passenger van-- but we aren't totally kidding. I'd love for our kids to be able to bring a friend or two along. Is there something smaller than 12 passenger? I'd want something like 10 passenger--lol.....

We are getting the diesel version, and WOW, it is the quietest diesel I have ever heard, and oh so smooth Smile We were about to get the diesel Merc GL350, and I am so glad we didn't. The drive on the Jeep is way better!
