 Blah. Yesterday I was feeling pretty ill... thought it had to do with my lactose intolerance though and lack of self control, lol. I started seeing some bright floaters around 10 PM and went to bed with a headache. I woke up this AM feeling fine... got up, took DD to the park, then thought maybe I should go borrow a blood pressure machine from my parents, JIC. So I get over there and take my BP, it was high, like 175/115, several times. I blamed this on the wrong cuff size, since I have fat arms and usually need the larger cuff. But still there was something nagging me so I called my doctor and asked if they could see me for a BP check. I showed up and even with the right size cuff my BP was 175/110 and I was spilling protein in my urine. SIGH, talk about deja vu (different circumstance but same thing with my DD). So, doc says hey, go to the hospital, now. I drop DD at my moms and head here... they get me in a room and my BP is still high... did my labs.. my liver platelets are perfect right now which is good. My doctor is keeping me here though... I'm doing a 24 hour urine draw to check my protein and I got round one of the steroid shots to boost us Lucas' lungs. I'm also on BP medicine now. Tomorrow evening after my 24 hour draw is complete we will find out our next course of action. Most likely scenario is that come Friday evening (48 hours after first steroid shot), Lucas will be born via c-section. The other scenario is that my BP is high just due to pregnancy induced hypertension and we may be able to control it with the meds and bed rest. Of course I hope for that to happen, but I (and my doctor) don't think that's going to happen. I'm 33 weeks 1 day today... I had my daughter due to pre-e at 33 weeks 2 days... and on Friday I will be 33 weeks 3 days. Anyways, wish me luck that everything comes out okay! I'm stuck in bed with no one around so I'll be around posting. I just pray that Lucas is big enough and strong enough to make it without many issues.
So, tonight is baby night. I got the word from my doctor around 8:30 this morning to stop eating and drinking as we will be delivering Lucas tonight, @ 33 weeks 3 days. I don't know the details yet, like how high my protein levels were... I'll have to wait until he comes in to find out. I'll update y'all later... keep us in your T&P's.
