How Many Telling on Thanksgiving?

I'm curious...how many from our month are breaking the news on Thanksgiving? Such a great opportunity with everyone together. My best friends knew all along. We told our son a couple weeks ago. But Thanksgiving is the day EVERYONE finds out. Family, facebook, my personal blog, etc.

Anyone with great ideas about how to announce? With our first, we handed out or mailed cards to everyone. The outside of the envelope was their regular name but the inside card was addressed to their new titles (since he was the first nephew, first grandson, etc). So for my sister: "Congratulations Aunt Holly!" with the ultrasound picture. For my dad: "Congratulations, Grandpa Beran!" with the ultrasound picture. (His dad had died recently and it meant a lot to him to have the same title.)

That was such a huge success with everyone, I'm not sure what to do this time! Charlie, our two year old, considers it his baby but is too shy with talking to verbally announce it himself, so we're trying to think of a way he can announce it without having to talk.

Any ideas?

I wish I had waited... I originally wanted to but can't keep my mouth shut! Maybe you can get your son a shirt and tell him to go show everyone his shirt? When I told my mom, it was kind of random... My DD (who was born 1.09) was jumping on me and hit my belly... I said don't hit my belly, remember why? And she said there's a baby in there! Maybe you could say "Hey ** where's the baby?!?" and see if he will pat your belly? My DD isn't super verbal with other people either so it's hard to count on them.

I'm having my ultrasound on Tuesday and as long as everything looks good, we'll go ahead an announce that day. We're not in the States for a big Thanksgiving reveal though. I plan on sending out an email to friends and family and then posting it on facebook. I will make it a Thanksgiving type announcement, saying how thankful we are, etc.

We will be telling our close family on Thanksgiving. It will just be a call as they live all live in CO and GA. I'm trying to decide if I want DS to tell them about his baby brother or sister in Mommy's belly (The doctor told him when we had our scary incident at 6 weeks :/ but it appears to ok so far!) We've already told DH's mom as she had a health scare this week and needed something positive to focus on. We'll also tell the close friends we are having Thanksgiving dinner with.

I really like the thankful theme...of course, it's Thanksgiving! Maybe we'll do a family thankful art activity (you know, the write what you're thankful for on construction paper leaves and make a tree sort of thing) and I'll pre-write Charlie's with baby stuff. Then he can post his up and everyone can read it.

We don't celebrate thanksgiving obviously- but I am waiting for my 12 week NT scan. I am 37 so am a bit nervous about the NT scan and am keeping it pretty secret until then, although as this is baby #3, it's hard to hide my tummy!!

I've told my parents and DH's parents and a select few friends/coworkers, but I'm going to try to avoid telling everyone else until after Thanksgiving. I've never been the "big announcement" type of person anyways, so I'm basically just giving my mom permission to tell everyone Biggrin Our NT scan is a week from Wednesday, so if everything still looks healthy at that time, I'll probably make it "Facebook official" and let my mom spread the news for me.

We have our first Thanksgiving celebration today with DH's family and plan on sharing the news! Then my family will be on Thursday at our dinner. We got DD a sweet little Big Sister shirt to wear.

I just ordered our christmas cards that include love baby (last name) with our kids. I am going to mail them friday. My sil is announcing on thanksgiving she is pregant and we havent told anyone yet cause we want her to have her time to shine since it is her first so we are just putting it on our cards and letting people find out instead of a big announcement

The cards are super cute- and how gracious of you to consider your SIL! Go you!
