Measuring big?

I am measuring over a week ahead? Dr didnt seem concerned, he joked I was having a 12 lbs baby. Not funny. I dont remember measuring big or small with ds? What does it mean? It is possible to measure big one week then normal in latter weeks?

That's normal. I was two weeks ahead and delivered an 8lb 6 oz baby 4 days before my due date. I''m measuring two weeks ahead for this one too

I've heard that you usually measure bigger with the more kids you have and depending on how much fluid you have.

DD2 measured about a week ahead and she was born 16 days before her EDD and she was only 6lbs 5oz.

At my last appt I was measuring a week ahead, and because I never had measured off with DD, I asked about it, and the doc said measuring anywhere +/- 2 weeks from where you are is fine. She said it's normal variation. So I wouldn't worry about it. Unless the trend continues or increases (like you get even bigger with every subsequent visit)... but really... I think it's all in the range of "normal".

One (or two or three) weeks ahead is no big deal. With my last I measured 7 weeks ahead and did have a 12lb baby. I'm measuring way ahead this time too.

The main thing with fundal height measurement is that the uterus (and baby) are consistently growing Smile

I measured 2 or 3 weeks behind with ds and he was 10 pounds Smile It can all depend on how the baby is laying at the time they measure.

I'm measuring "ahead" this time-- only about 3-4 weeks.....lol....but this is my 5th baby.

I wouldn't worry too much, like the others said.

I measured roughly 2 weeks ahead with DD, she was small at 6.15 but was tall - this one, I haven't seen the OB since my 18 weeks appointment (I've been in for sickness and such, just not a regular appt) and I was measuring 1 week ahead then. Totally normal!

I'm 27 weeks and I'm measuring 29 weeks today at my doctor's appointment- eek!
Also, Another thing I'm worried about. I gained 9 pounds in five months of this pregnancy, and now at six months I've gained another -EEEEEEEEEK- nine pounds! WHAT the heck!
How fast are you guys gaining weight right now? A pound a week or more?
I'm not going to compare and then agonize, I'm just curious. What I'm going to do is stop having jelly beans and ice cream. Only one sugar treat a week from here on out. GEEZ I feel like a fatty!

I've gained 20 so far. At 22 weeks I had gained about 9 or so. Then I went to hawaii for a week and gained 9 that month. lol. As of yesterday, in the past month I have only gained a pound. Dr wasnt concerned. I have been really active and am coaching 5 days a week. I gain 45 with DS, so far so good? We'll see.

I was a little overweight to begin with though active. I eat healthier when pregnant/ nursing so am not shocked I've gained the 16 my Dr is happy with. My goal is to gain a pound a week for the rest.

I had JUST lost weight right before finding out I was pregnant, but according to my notes, I was 160 at 3w and now am 170 at 27 weeks... so it's not as bad as it looks... but I lost weight in the first tri...and then in the second I had several large gains (like +7 and +4)...so I've caught back up and am gaining now. I am REALLY hoping to not pass 185, which was my top weight with my DD, but, I don't know if I'll manage it. I guess we'll see. I'm trying not to worry about it too much, because I know my body is just doing what it's doing... but I need to make some healthier choices as well. I eat well, but then I snack on crap. So yeah...

I have to say I'm relieved to not be the only one to gain 9 pounds in a month! I'm still reeling from it! But I'm on the straight and narrow now Smile I only want to gain 3 pounds per month, if that.

I put on 6 lbs. between my 16 and 20 week appointments, and then gained ANOTHER SEVEN from 20-24 (had my appointment this past Wed). Yikes. My total gain now is 15 lbs., blah. The last few weeks have been really bad for me! We had three parties for DS's birthday (between friends and family and such), which ALL had leftovers sitting around the house... ice cream, cupcakes, etc. I'm usually not a sweet eater, but recently I've been starving and that is ALL I want! It's so annoying. Not to mention, my Girl Scout cookies came in this last week and I've been putting them away like they're going out of style. I really need to stop! Lots of sweets plus crappy weather, which means I haven't had DS outside for walks like usual, and I guess that'll do it to you. I never gained this much between appointments with DS, so I'm kind of freaking out about it!

That being said, I'm measuring right where I should be. That's all the more specific the doc got about it on Wednesday. Wink

I always have 10 pound gains these weeks......worry not! I tend to stop gaining around 32 weeks or so.....

As of last appt, I had gained 22 lbs. I think I'll gain another good bit by my next appt.....bring it on.

I'm eating well and still exercising Smile With my other pgs I always gained 35 lbs. total.
