We DEFINITELY do NOT know the sex of this baby! WHOAH. That was THE WORST ultrasound I've ever seen! And hey, we are team green, so we didn't want to know... but, we didn't even have to worry about trying to know... we couldn't have figured it out.
The good news... placenta is well places, far from cervix. The tech told us (he didn't say a word for the longest time, and then I started asking questions) that the head was complete and looked good, heart and stomach were in the right places, heart was beating nicely, and the spine looked great.
Saw the doc afterward. My blood pressure was like 114/66, I think. Everything tested in urine looked perfect. Weight was up 7lbs from the last time I weighed myself- which was 3 weeks ago, after having traveler's tummy and the stomach bug, and weighing on a different scale. Also it was afternoon. I definitely prefer weighing in the morning, but whatever. I'm still 2lbs lighter than I was when I started the pregnancy, and I'm almost certain, I'm at just about the same weight I was with my DD at this point, so really, I'm not worried about it. 7lbs in 3 weeks is a lot, but, with all the possible discrepancies, who knows. I'll try not to eat quite so much junk for the time being.
He wants me to do the glucose test already at my next appt (in 4 weeks)- I'll only be 25 weeks. I swear with my DD I did it more like 28 or 29 weeks. I was hoping to NOT do it here in Laos, and then have my midwife approve not doing it at all when I got back to the States. I passed no problem with DD. Oh well.
I think that was it. I got to hear the heartbeat, and it was loud and strong. Sounded lovely.
Oh, and we took DD to the appt with us. She behaved very well. She basically doesn't watch tv at home anymore, so when we told her to watch the screen, she just kept going, "Oooooh, baby." But then she was also saying, "oooh no, ooooh no..." The tech was laughing at her. She was definitely fascinated by it, but based on how crappy the pictures were I'm sure she didn't really understand anything of it.
Did I mention that already... it was THE CRAPPIEST set of pictures I have ever seen. I got like 10 pictures to take home and the only ones I can recognize are the head (not even a profile) and I think a femur...thankfully, no genitals in the pic. So seriously, nothing to share on that count.
