prenatal horse pills make anyone sick?

so just curious, anyone elses prenatals make you just sick to your stomach? before my first official dr visirt, i was takin prenatals from walmart which didnt make me sick an hour after taking. was prescribed something with almost double the iron intake...it says not to eat with food which i found out not the case. have to drink a whole cup of milk to keep it down anymore. has worked for a few days but like i said was curious if anyone elses prenatals have made them sick too?

Last pregnancy, I took prescription prenatals and they maybe me terribly sick, they also had MORE iron then typical prenatals. This time, I am taking the Women's One-A-Day Prenatals (2 pills a day) and they digest fine.

Maybe you should switch back? Unless you have the need for additional iron.

i wish i could switch back but yeah i need the iron. although thinking about asking my dr about 1/2 a pill twice a day. comparing the 2 i figured i would be taking 2.5 of the walmart brand vs what they prescribed me. gonna wait till i get ready for bed again and try the glass of milk remedy, hopefully it works again.

Ugh yeah, iron makes me sick but I'm pretty sure I was getting close to anemia with this pregnancy (no issues last time) so I started taking regular prenatals again. I honestly don't know if I can blame my sickness on them this time though... I take my pill around 8 PM and my nausea doesn't usually hit until 12 PM the next day.

sad to say my trick of drinking a glass of milk did not work last night...i didn't puke but good lord i felt it all over again. i'm growing to accept the fact it may make my stomach upset for a little bit but since i switched it has helped in other aspects. i am not feeling like constant crud like i was before thank goodness. i probably should count my blessings ms isn't that bad as it could be! i have a ob appointment on monday so i will dicuss this with them.

You could try to up your iron intake with your diet. Really what you need at this point is 800 mcg of folic acid and a well rounded diet.

You can get good iron from greens, lean red meats, fortified cereals......

I take some gummy vitamins that aren't too bad-- they are from Target and pretty cheap....
