I took my DD in to the GP today because she's been a little off recently (but she doesn't have anything diagnose-able), and while I was there I asked what my course of action should be since I just found out I was pregnant! She said to come back in a couple weeks, at least 2, up to 4 weeks, to have a dating ultrasound (I think I might wait 4 weeks instead of just 2, to increase my chances to see a BABY, not a BEAN, you know?) She said most prenatal care can be handled by her and the ultrasound tech at their clinic, but, if I want to have all those tests they do around 12-14 weeks, I will probably have to go to Bangkok to have them done. Honestly, I don't think we can afford that right now, so, I'll probably skip it. But I'll talk to DH and see what he says.
The plan is for me to be here in Laos through about 30 weeks, and then I'll take DD and head back to the States- so I want to make sure I have a file of records to bring with me to prove I've had proper prenatal care.
I'm going to start looking for a midwife in the States too.
I'm so excited!!!
