Update on bleeding (poss m/c ment) *Update in 1st Post!*

So, this morning I had some more dark red spotting, so I called my OB and told them it was bleeding. I am sick and tired of "waiting", so they brought me in to see the doctor today. Doctor said everything was old blood, but I have a slow trickle, and labeled me a threatened miscarriage at this point. I had a beta level drawn today, and will have another one drawn on Thursday.

Then I had an u/s this afternoon. We have a beautiful heartbeat of 126 bpm! I'm measuring 6w3d, about a day or so behind my EDD. Anyhow, we were so relieved to see the hb and thought all was well until my OB office called. Apparently the u/s was inconclusive at this point on whether or not the pregnancy is viable. The positive was a strong fetal hb and pole, and the fact that I'm measuring right on schedule, the not so positive was a "strange texture" at the bottom part of my uterus near the baby. The nurse said it was inconclusive at this point what it is, and we basically wait to see what my beta levels do on Thursday. Apparently it could be anything from a vanishing twin (I guess this is the good outcome), or that the baby didn't implant properly and that I will go on to m/c at some point. Sad

Anyhow, so no definitive answers at this point. I am so thrilled for a hb, but now I am scared to death something will happen to that little bean if it's not implanted like it should be. At this point, I'm pretty numb over this whole pregnancy. I feel completely exhausted and would just like to know one way or another.

Thanks for listening.

**Update!!** - Well, I just got my betas back from a little while ago, and they are going up, up, up! I was at 84,000 on Tuesday, and 109,000 yesterday!! So, no doubling, but they didn't expect that since my numbers were already so high. The nurse I talked to this morning said she's leaning towards vanishing twin since my numbers are so high for where I am gestationally, so that is good news! I'm a little bit relieved, now! But, I won't be totally happy until my next u/s, which is the 14th! I'll be 8w3d, and they're just going to check up on the baby's growth and the bleed in there.

So yay for climbing numbers!

I'm praying for you Jen and that this baby sticks! What a wonderful thing to see the HB, that is a very good thing! My sister in law had almost this EXACT same thing happen at the same place you are 6 1/2 weeks and is now 24 weeks along with little Asher Smile They finally determined it to be vanishing twin after a little bit.

We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers that everything will be okay with this baby!

Oh wow! Glad to hear your numbers are going up. I hope everything continues just fine for you. If it's a vanishing twin, that is both kinda sad, but also kind of cool. I am so amazed by the whole process of how this whole baby growing thing happens. KUP!

Thanks everyone!

As for the bleeding, it was never actually bleeding bleeding, just spotting. I just called my doc and told them I was bleeding because I was tired of waiting. Wink Anyhow, yeah, it's all been brown (with the occasional dark red blob) of spotting/CM. And I haven't seen any since last night. So fingers crossed it's done! But we'll see. It stopped once before and came back, so I don't know if it's gone or not for good.

Weirdly enough, I'm not sad at all about the vanishing twin! I guess that sounds terrible! But I'm really not. I never really knew there was two in there (if that's what this turns out to be, could still just be a hematoma that is bleeding out), and we only ever saw one baby on the u/s. So, I'm not too upset about it. Actually, I'm grateful mother nature decided to do what she did because I am SO not built for twins. After having DS early, I would not be a good candidate for carrying twins in a healthful manner!

And Kelly! I had no idea Linc had a vanishing twin. From the reading I've done, it's actually super common! Some 30% of pregnancies start out that way, they think! Some people bleed, and some have no symptoms at all. It's so strange.

Hopefully we'll see a nice, healthy, strong baby at our 8 week u/s! Then I might be able to breathe a bit easier! Thanks again for all your support and strong vibes!
