UPDATED Positive test yesterday

Hi Gals,

I got my positive test yesterday. I've had 1 tubal and 2 miscarriages so we are on the rocks with this. Excited but scared too. I called the do and went and got my blood drawn for HCG testing. My level is at 27 and I am supposed to be 4weeks and 3 days?

Has anyone else had their HCG this low?
I have to go back on Sat and have them test again so I wont even have results until Monday.

I started not quite that low but I was at 36 at 14 DPO...I've had to go in for bloodwork every 3 days since!

Congratulations on your positive test!! I understand how rocky things can be after having losses.
Regarding your numbers... every pregnancy is different, and the most important thing is that they're doubling every 48ish hours! I know it's a tough wait, but just wait until you get your second blood draw and see how they're increasing.

Welcome and HH9M!!

Yes! My hcg at somewhere between 4-5 weeks was only 16! That's crazy low. It doubled every 35 hours or so and my doctor was pleased with that. I too have had a miscarriage and I understand how hard it is. I hope your bean sticks, KUP!

Congrats!!

Not sure about HCG levels, I never got the results from my blood panel. I think they key is that the numbers double.

Thank you girls. Sometimes I need a little convincing lol. Dr. said that once we see the numbers double then I am to go on Levonox injections everyday and I am currently taking the baby aspirin and prenatals now. I think as long as my symptoms keep reminding me I'm pregnant I think I'll be good to go. I get another blood test tomorrow and results on Monday. I'll keep you all posted.

Congratulations!! We're due date buddies. Smile

I think it's like PP said, as long as it's doubling, you are good to go. Good luck! KUP on your results!!

Here are the averages:

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: Postmenopausal females:

So with 27 you would definitely fall into the 4-5 week range.

Are there any signs of an ectopic prior to visiting the doctor?

I had a lot of pain. I actually thought I was constipated and tried taking suppositories. I was 9 weeks along when I had my surgery. I have NO clue I was pregnant, but then again my husband had a vasectomy, or at least we thought he did. A few times I had thought that I was pregnant and even commented "if you hadn't had a vasectomy, I'd think I was pregnant". I remember the pain would come on so fast and hard and would put me in the fetal position. Nobody understood what my problem was. I also had a lot of bleeding. I thought my period was being wonky and and lasted for weeks. I chalked it up to endometriosis. The only reason I found out that I had the tubal was because I was scheduled to have a laporoscopy later that week and they did a blood panel. I was completely shocked when I found out I was pregnant and made them test again. My Hcg was low and they couldn't find it in the uterus. I had multiple ultrasounds done until they figured it out. When I woke up one morning in complete pain it was no longer stopping with tylonel and I went to the ER. The doctor had told me that I needed surgery and needed it right away. After the surgery he told my husband that he was glad I came in when I did. My tube was paper thin and I was about 9 weeks along. They cut my tube and now its closed. The interesting part was that hubby was scheduled for a vasectomy reversal and we had put half the money down for that procedure. We had him checked and he is running at 70% which is close to normal. It amazes me everytime I think about it.

HCG level from Saturday came back at 153 so we are heading the right direction. Doc says that its still low but we may have caught it real early. So this is good news Smile
