Where is everyone from?

Hey ladies Smile

Just wondering where you are all from?

I'm from Melbourne , Australia. Prenatal care with a ob starts at 6.5 weeks.

What about you all?

We are in North Carolina USA. Prenatal care can start at various times here. It depends on your doctor and it depends on your history. If you have had repeat mc...most offices get you in asap. My doc does a urine confirmation/orientation as soon as possible and then at 7-8 weeks you have your first appointment with the big blood draw and ultrasound to check viability. Mine is tomorrow..Im a nervous wreck!!

hey ladies...

I grew up in Michigan, but, since graduating university have lived in China, Latvia, Angola and am now living in Laos.

I went in for bloodwork at around 7 weeks, they would have been keen to do a dating ultrasound too, but my insurance only covers two ultrasounds per pregnancy, so I chose to postpone until the 12 week ultrasound...and then I'll have one at 20ish weeks too.

I am from New Mexico. Usually with the ob's here they get you in at about 9 weeks or so. They are always swamped. I got to be able to have my first ultrasound at about 4-5 weeks and then my second one at 7 weeks. I had a scare with some abdominal pain at about 4 weeks. I go back for my first real appointment on Nov 14.

I'm from Wisconsin. I just had my first OB appointment and ultrasound today! My dr. usually does them between 8 and 10 weeks. With my last OB, I got in earlier at 6 weeks because of recurrent miscarriage, but this time I was fine waiting. Sometimes too many early appointments can cause more stress... at least for me!

Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV.

OB care depends on the doctor but usually around 8 weeks they see you for your intake appointment.

I'm from the good ol southern state of Georgia! I live in the metro ATL area. I will have my first bloodwork/ultrasound appointment right at 8 weeks. I am 7 weeks today so only one more week to confirm this is a viable baby! I've been a nervous wreck for no other reason than paranoia!

I'm from Louisiana and live in Mississippi. I spent 6 years in Nebraska and one year in Ohio so am happy to be back in the south on the coast.

I had an orientation (don't drink; don't smoke; exercise) at 7 weeks, will have an ultrasound at 12 weeks and see an OB for the first time at 13 weeks.

From...well Louisiana, NC and now Texas...

I've been going through fertility treatments for a number of months to get to this point so I am still seeing my RE until 12 weeks. Then I will start with either a midwife or OB of my choice.

It's so miserable here at the moment & it's supposed to be summer!!!

Born and raised in Virginia. Just made the big jump over the river to Maryland. Either way, its all the DC Metro....Im only 10 minutes from DC. Smile

My OB will do appts from 6-11 weeks. Im opting for 7-8 weeks and hoping for something more substantial than paperwork.

I'm from Ontario, Canada. We typically don't see a physician or midwife here until 10-12 weeks. OBs we generally don't see until 20 weeks if that's the chosen route, you just see your family physician until then. I have chosen to use a midwife who I will see at 10 weeks. Makes for a really long wait and I am a little envious of those of you with early u/s who have had your mind put at ease a little bit.

Grew up in Concord, California. But I don't consider it home. I live in northern Utah now. It's very family oriented here and I love it.

I spent a few years in Santa Barbara, CA and I HATED it. The beach is nice, but the atmosphere is so superficial and narcissistic. And crap the closest WALMART & Olive Garden is a 40min drive away! haha

I'm from southwestern Ontario, Canada. I see my doctor on Monday the 7thand he'll schedule a dating ultrasound. Then I'll see an OB between 15-20 weeks, whenever we can set up the earliest appointment. I'm going crazy waiting though!!!

I am in Central Oregon by way of Southern California. I have been seeing my DR all summer, even before we found out I was pregnant due to ovarian cysts... I didn't go until 8 weeks with DS.

My best friend in the world is from Dansville. She still lives there now. And she's also pregnant, and due like 2 weeks ahead of me.

Do you know the birthing center The Greenhouse in Okemos??? I so wish we had one like it near Kalamazoo!

I'm in Pennsylvania! Though my dad was military, so I was born in NC and have lived in VA and CA, too!

As for the OB, as long as things are running smoothly, you don't see them for your first officially appointment until 10-12 weeks.

I'm from Victoria, Australia. With my other two kids I had blood tests done at the first doctor's appointment which is anytime after you find out really, but not necessary. I wasn't going to bother with the early appointment or any ultrasounds before 12 weeks this time but last week I had some bad cramping so I thought I'd better go. I had the blood work done last week and my ultrasound is scheduled for Monday week.

hi ladies,
i am from west virginia. actually live in morgantown, where wvu is. love it here although i was destined to be in hawaii with my husband when he was in the service but he got discharged 2 weeks because of a bad shoulder before our report date so i'm still stuck here in wv.

anyhow enough of that had 3 ultrasounds done already bc of what i thought was spotting and cramping but all is good now. have another appointment scheduled for the 14th and cant wait to see how my lo is progressing.

I'm late bc I've been traveling for work....just catching up.

I'm from NW Indiana....but have lived in Colorado for the last 6 years. We love it here and intend to stay until our kids are long gone.....

I'm planning my third homebirth-- so I'll see my MW next week. That is actually on the "late" side for her, as she likes to see mamas at about 5 weeks. But I've been out of the country and state....so 9 weeks it is.

Never heard of it. I have to deliver though in a hospital cause I have csections!

I use to live in Stockbridge right outside of Dansville. I use to go to all the parades there. Cute lil town! Smile
