What are your resolutions and/or goals for this year?
I hate to call it a "resolution" because I swear that jinxes everything but DH & I are going to try to stay on top of our budget this year instead of letting it fall to the sidelines after a month or two. That's actually what we are working on today (fun stuff, right?).
I also want to get back on my cleaning "schedule" - I used to have a M-F cleaning schedule that freed my time up on the weekends and kept my house clean but I let it go after DS was born and haven't picked it back up. I figure Jan. 1 is as good as a time to restart that as any (although come June it will probably cease existence again).
I don't really do resolutions. I don't know...it just seems like they're meant to be broken.

I've never done any kind of resolution either. I do plan on starting a new schedule/routine around here though with the new year. Well, we will ease into it over the next couple weeks. My family is visiting for a few days next weekend, so we won't go "full swing" with it until after they are gone. I guess the "resolution" part of it is wanting to incorporate more scheduled "fun" into our days. It seems like craft projects and things of that nature are always hit or miss around here, and I want to work into the schedule an hour and half block in the afternoon for "projects" with the kids.
Let's see. Many of them, quit smoking, going on nearly a week (only like one or two a day before). DH is quitting also. DH is starting a diet and hoping to loose 50 lbs, I suppose after the baby comes I will be joining him on the diet, I need to loose 50 lbs from my weight right now (and had lost 25 lbs prior to getting pregnant). And I am making it a resolution to make school work seem like not such a daunting task to DS (well he really only wants to play minecraft all the time, and hates school work because it takes away from that.)
I also want to get into some sort of class, I don't even care what it is on but I need to get out of this house at some point during the week.
MJDttc...Those are all such fine goals! I'm sending you encouragement. Perhaps your doctor can help with both your weight and smoking. There are so many new helpful ways to go about these things!
I can see the challenge with DS too! The idea that learning & school can be FUN is important throughout life.
This is the time of year when free courses are posted for adult education. I hope you find one that challenges you this month!
We are getting back to the gym. We worked out four times a week last year until I hurt my foot and was not allowed for a month (not even swimming because the foot was infected! Grr!). Then my foot healed and I was pregnant and too sick. But we head back Monday. It's not so much a resolution as me saying I've had enough time for self pity and sickness. I miss it so much. Working out was good for our health but you know, it was so great for our marriage. We workout together and it's our time to talk without the kids and it's so nice!
otherwise I need to get a better schedule going for all of us during the day. Sometimes we don't even start school until after lunch. We have no routine. And we need to be on a good one before the baby comes. (We year-round school).
