I haven't been updating consistently on check-ups. There are so many these days and not much to report but I thought I'd tell you ladies about my last 2.
So a week ago Wednesday I had my 32.5 week check-up. I was expecting routine and short...they did the regular weight, bp check and send me to PIAC. Told me when I was done to go to exam room 2 and doc will come see me, which is normal...he listens to her with the Doppler and asks if I have any questions then sends me on my way. When I come out of the restroom the nurse is like, change of plans come in here and we are going to do a NST. So I have a moment of concern about why the sudden change of plans but turns out they realized I was at the gestation that they start this as routine due to me being AMA this time. It hadn't been mentioned before so I wasn't aware of the plan. Whatever...so anyway have to sit on the monitor for a while and doc comes in to say all looks good then says we'll see you next week. I'm like wait, why next week...thought I was still every 2 weeks at least one more time. But no, again since I'm AMA they start weekly appointments already and will be doing the NST at each.
Fast forward to this Wednesday...it was pretty boring but took forever. I did loose weight this week after holding steady the previous 2 so I'm pretty happy that has finally slowed down. I have packed it on since the beginning at like a lb or lb and a half per week so it's about time I slow down. Again baby looked good on the NST. I think she doesn't like the monitor b/c she is constantly running away from it and then they keep me on longer. So doc tells me that next week they'll be doing a BPP b/c they like to sprinkle those in every so often for the AMA mamas as well. It's a bit overkill IMHO but I'll be the compliant patient. My doc is one that likes to do a lot of checks but I've always found him to be reasonable with his assessments and not the alarmist (especially bad when they use scare tactics).
My next appointment is Monday at 2:30 and I have the BPP, which is an u/s mostly I believe. Guess I'll look it up to be sure I understand.
