    Default Another Boring Appt

I had another boring midwife appt today. Boring is good. I decided to go ahead and do the GD test because I felt that I'd regret not knowing...so I got the lab requisition for that. I'll go in next week. She did the doppler and measured me. I measured 27.5 at 28.5 weeks so that's good. Weight is creeping up but I'm trying to be at peace with the fact that my body will do what it wants in that department (within reason).

Next appt is in 2 weeks! WOW! Down to appts every 2 weeks already!

Do you mean 27.5 to 28.5 weeks???

I think the GD option is one you won't regret.. Most people DON'T have it but for those that do, knowing it half the battle!

Glad to hear it went well. I agree that to do the GD is a good thing. It is fairly non invasive, and I generally shun most prenatal tests. And like my doctor said today, if you do have GD it is easily controlled and can make all the difference in the health of you and your baby and how your delivery may go. To me it is much safer to know, than not to.

Yep, boring is good! . My weight gain is bad...last checkup I weighed in about the same as my 36 wk appointment with DS2. He was born days later so this pregnancy will set new records in gain for me. Lovely!
Good luck with the glucose test...hopefully it'll just bring price of mind that you don't have anything to worry about.

HA HA HA HA! YES! You're right! I've fixed that now. :P

As for the GD test my midwife actually said that she doesn't really see much of a different outcome with people who know they have GD and those that don't. Who knows. Anyways, I just figured I'd be more at peace if I knew. My friend's second was over 10 lbs and she didn't have the test, so she sort of wonders if she had GD. She had a midwife birth in the midwife's birthing suite so at least that all worked out!

Funny to type about the GD test as I sit here eating candy after candy. :P

    Ummmm...so good!

My test is the 1 hour non-fasting one. Hopefully I pass it. Our lab has a new appt system so I just went online and booked it for Monday at 10:30 am. Good times.

The labs here do the booking appointments thing too. It's kind of annoying, but I guess a good system for some tests and bloodwork. When I did my 1 hour test, I booked an appt. I got my drink right away and my timer. Another lady showed up to do the same test, but without an appt. She had to wait 25 minutes before they would even give her the drink, THEN wait the hour for blood, because the wait time was 25 minutes.

Ya, last time I went I didn't have an appt and I waited a whole hour to get in. Luckily that was just a simple blood draw but still! I hate waiting.

I'm jealous of your system! I wait an hr every time and then it takes forever to draw blood bc I'm a hard stick so lately I tell them where to draw or ask for the anesthesiologist right away. Even when I was uber sick b4 my surgery it was 2 hrs before I got in, waiting in pan in a wheel chair with a toddler in that same waiting room. I wonder if I can book it or call or something... Hmmm.
