I know we have a couple ladies contracting and was wondering if we have any news today?
Leah? Kia? How are you both doing?
I was just messaging Kia. She's home...didn't mention contractions. Says she peed 6 huge pees in the night though and isn't swollen yet. I hope her body expelled some of that water she was holding on to!
Leah? What's up girl?
May 25 is a full moon. Bet some babies start coming!
That's hubby's birthday! I'd rather if they don't share a birthday...
That said, I'm pretty sure baby hasn't dropped or anything. Not much action going on around here (other than intense wiggling).
Heather that is my dad's birthday too! I told him I'd love for him to share it but I'd prefer he didnt! As for me I got some great looks when I went in to drop my sub plans off.. mostly from ones that hadn't seen me in a little bit and were Shocked at how large/low I was. (ill get a pic today. I didnt like how yesterday's came out!) the laboratory didnt believe I had a month left....... and baby is LOW and contractions are there. SO we will see how it goes. we are supposed to be on the road on Saturday for one last trip to Mom-Moms before she's out of town for a while (and to do some baby shopping!) so hopefully not yet! *though it is a nice hospital where we are going)
Tori's birthday is Tuesday. I've had a few dreams that he came on her birthday. I really don't want that to happen!
Come on full moon power!! I would love for this baby to come this weekend. I've been having tons of pressure and its getting old...but I doubt baby will debut until we force him out!
Still here. Having contractions, not as painful as last night. I have had bloody discharge today, so that could be a good sign! DS's birthday is next Friday, I would rather go ahead and have this baby and be home from the hospital by then!
Wow, I can't believe it's almost baby time!
So excited to see some babies! I can't believe we haven't had one yet! I am so ready fo this baby to come. He is so low and uncomfortable. I just hope I can make it to 37weeks then he can come!!
I'm here. Ctx every 10 still. I am a mucousy mess down there this am and can no longer "lift her" like I could so hope it's soon. Anyone check their own dilation b4? I had a bubble feeling last night but no gush so slept on a towel. I'm sure it's getting old but any day she will be here. 9 days max
Been having tons of semi-strong contractions since the move, maybe like 3 an hour, but nothing promising, they have pretty much stopped this morning though.
Well I got down on my hands and knees and scrubbed my toilet and bathroom floor just now. What do I get? Nothing, but tired. LOL. Good luck to you ladies dealing with contrax!
Haha Sandra - that's what my MIL did to have my DH Maybe your bathroom floor isn't big enough though - she did her kitchen I think....
I feel like we're all anxious, but since nobody's 40 weeks or anything, we're all letting our little ones take their time despite our own discomfort. Imagine if we don't have any babies til June!
I'm definitely feeling anxious now - even though I know it's probably another 2-3 weeks. Only because I had a bunch of "things" that were before baby, and even though I have things to do, I don't have any events or big things that are before the baby. So now I feel like the baby is the next thing, and it's making me anxious. On the other hand, me and DH watched a movie last night and it had me thinking how much my life is about to change again taking care of a LO.
Yeah, I'm not really ready for baby to come out yet. My bathroom was just really disgusting
I know this one will be late like my others so I'm sure I've still got over 2 weeks. Biding my time!
I've got 15 days from today to go! Hopefully I make it!! Don't want this baby out any sooner. Although I'm super uncomfortable! Definitely want the baby to finish baking
I don't think they will 'let' me go much past 38 weeks if I make it that far. Doctor seems too concerned with size at this point.
My doctors always seem worried my babies will be too small and then they come out huge. Not sure how they hide in there. I'm praying to go at 37 weeks so he isn't huge. I'm not scared to birth a big one, Lucas's head alone was in like the 90-something percentile and he came out just fine. It's after. It's lugging a 10 pound newborn that does a number on my already bad back!!!
Physically I feel like three more weeks is pushing it. Emotionally, I am not ready at all for this. I'm getting worried about PPD. I had it with Tori for 18 months but not with Lucas at all. This time I'm having absolute panic attacks about letting go of the family I've known for six years. It's so different when you know you will have more and that things will change. But we thought we were done and had absolute peace about our family and have a great thing going right now. So I'm having these awful moments of panic about it all changing and I hope this anxiety doesn't grow into PPD. At least now I know the signs and what to do, right?
I wonder about the ladies who have stopped posting. Like Candice and her triplets!

I hardly ever post because I have so many other things going on, but I'm still pregnant! Lurking 1-2x a week though!
I'm sure you are headed to the hospital now, but yes, I check my own dilation all the time once I hit 35 weeks (well like once every couple days or so). I'm about a 3-4 right now. Doesn't mean anything for me though. I can walk around for weeks like this!

Any tips on checking? I've checked my cervix for TTC before but never for dilation.
Well, obviously wash your hands well with soap and water first! Then usually I just check while on the toilet. If your cervix is still long then that's what you can "attempt" to put a finger into. If you are dilated at least a cm you shouldn't really have to force anything (and DON'T obviously). It's never been an issue for me because once I'm about 34 weeks I'm already a good 3 cm at least. If you don't notice anything "long" in there then you are probably starting to efface quite a bit. I know for me I was much longer last week, but this week I can tell my cervix is shortening as well. If you are starting to shorten it can be harder to locate the cervix. Anyway, if you are dilated more than a cm you can slide your finger around a bit (not rough though) and feel about how much. I can also feel a little bit of my bag of water. I can also feel a very round, hard baby head both inside and outside of my cervix. I am always tempted to sweep my own membranes once I hit about 37 weeks, but honestly, I wouldn't have a clue what I'm doing, and that is really something that is best left to "the professionals."
ETA: Oh, and if your baby's head is still really high, you may not be able to find your cervix, but it's worth the attempt anyway if you're curious. Although I've only recently been checking for dilation, I have been feeling my baby's head since about 28 weeks.
Thanks for the info Laurie! We tried to check with DD, but we were completely useless and had no idea what we were looking for. To be honest, I'm still quite sure we'd have no idea what we're looking for. I suppose when you've had enough pregnancies and enough professional checks you have a better idea of what the heck you're doing!
I cant imagine even trying to check to see if I was dialated.. This new dr office has you do the strep (gbs?) swab yourself... (my old office did it for you) and that was hard. Im SOOO swollen everything hurts! (even to just pee hurts from all the swelling/pressure)
I checked b4 my water broke and was a 2+
I've read everything I can about checking myself and still gave no clue what I'm feeling for when I try. Not just pregnant but when I have tried during my cycles, too.
On a funny note, I recall on one of my birth boards the topic of self checks came up and a crazy lurker appeared and started freaking out that women have "absolutely no right" to check their own cervix. It was the craziest drama ever. Her husband was an OB and she kept on saying no one without a medical degree could touch a cervix. Funny memory.
Just noticed I haven't seen Leah around here in a couple of days...wonder if she has any action in the baby arrival department? Maybe just quiet over the long weekend? Hmmm
Hummmm....you're right. Her last post was Saturday. Who is her birth buddy?
She didn't sign up for a birth buddy. Anybody got her on FB?
I've been here, just lurking about. I've become antisocial IRL and online! I am at the point of just feeling done and I am tired of hearing people ask and talk about it. I do go to the doctor tomorrow. I am not totally sure this baby is keeping his head engaged, but I guess I will find out tomorrow. On the positive sign, I think we may have a name!

Oh yay! You're here. *hugs*. Sorry you're having a hard time. I've never gone overdue but I can imagine once you get close people are asking you about baby ALL the time...and that would get annoying.
I'm so glad you may have a name! That's great news!
Congrats on picking a name Leah! :woohoo: With my first, people bugged me nonstop about when baby was going to come, but after one late one, everyone leaves me alone now (can't remember if your other two were early or not?). Which was good since my last one was late too and this one seems to be following suit. Either way, hope that little guy comes out soon so you don't have to stress it any longer! *hugs*
