So, the doctor appointment this morning went well. Since I leave for Japan on Friday, he gave me a script for Zofran to take along just in case I need it. He felt my tummy and said "Well, it's not triplets!", but he can't rule out twins this early, so he set me up for an U/S on November 17. YEAH!!
Based on my LMP he changed my due date to June 20 -- I still say June 22 based on ovulation, but two days isn't a big deal. He mentioned possibly wanting to induce me on June 13 since I have such fast labors - he doesn't want me to miss getting to the hospital and/or the doc not getting there in time. We will have to talk about that one later -- I really don't want to be induced - it may sound crazy, but I think the baby should decide his/her own birthday!
He also told me about a new blood test that can determine whether the baby has Trisomy 21, 18 or 13. It's just a blood draw that can be done as early as 10 weeks. It would replace the NTscan/blood test that is done 11-1/2 to 13 weeks. Unlike the NT Scan, it won't determine "likelihood" since it's not a screening. It's an actual diagnosis. I liked getting to know sooner and that its a definative answer! DH and I will talk about it, but looks like we are going to do that blood test November 29.
That's pretty much it for now
great appointment! I agree on them determining their own birthday! I hope you don't have to induce!
