Birthing Class

So it seems they are determined to get me into a class at the center. The CEO Midwife called me yesterday and said they were putting me in the day long class on June 8th, which is reallly cutting it close but whatevs. Really don't understand why, I mean what did women do before they had classes and modern medicine... anyhow, so at least it is after we have moved and it fits into the schedule so long as I don't go early.

Wow, guess they are pretty adamant that everyone take one. I hope you can work it into your schedule!

That's kind of funny. I would think of all places a birthing center would be open to go with the flow, as nature intended it to be ways.

It won't be too bad. I'm a geek and would take the classes again if I could, but the ones around here are mostly for FTMs.

I signed up for a class this Sunday at our midwife's office. It's called 'Childbirth Naturally'. It's only $30 for both of us to go for 3 hours and my mom will watch DD. We didn't do a vaginal birth last time and I feel like you can always learn SOMETHING from taking a class. I hope your class isn't too boring!

lol I think it will be informative, and I was never really against going (its more the time crunch of switching doctors and then we are moving this month) It is a 75 dollar class, they are giving it to me for free (I am sure they can find something to charge the money to my insurance or bill me for it later or something). I am looking forward to it, I am all about information, plus spending a whole day with my sister is good no matter what we are doing :D.

If I thought Jon would sit through a class and get anything out of it, I'd gladly take one. But he'd probably check out mentally so what's the point? I'm just reading and practicing some relaxation on my own.

I hope your class is fun!

lol DH can't even stay in the room while I am actively pushing, so he got bumped out of birthing coach position.

Why can't your DH stay in the birthing room with you?? You ended up moving to a place out in OP, yes?

Jon gets really grumpy when I'm in labor. I think he gets nervous and doesn't like to see me like that but he isn't very useful. Hs so awesome all the time, so I try not to be too hard on him about something that only happens so rarely! I prefer to labor alone anyway so it all works out!

Technically, he can stay in the room with me. In reality, I dislike being vomited on. He has a pretty week stomach, nearly threw up on DS when changing his diaper in the early days...

Yep, I transferred after seeing two separate doctors up at Liberty that were just too rude for my liking. Plus, we are moving to the south of the city next week, and the drive will be shorter to the birth center, and the birth center is all pretty and stuff....
