Blah.

I failed the stupid test. She said I was at 150. That is crazy. Typically I barely break 100.

I just emailed my doctor with some reasons I think I shouldn't bother with the three hour. We will see what he says. Mostly, there are like five foods I can tolerate eating. Nobody is taking those away from me. So even of I failed, so what? I'm not going to be able to do a special diet. I can barely keep down any food to begin with! And my doctor just told me two weeks ago to eat anything at all I can tolerate just to get some calories in. It's a frustrating situation

Did you have anything sugary before the test? Maybe it got thrown off?

You say you are still on the anti-nausea meds, is it possible you were really dehydrated? Did they run a H&H, if your hematocrit was pretty high it could signal that you are dehydrated causing the the sugar in your blood to be more concentrated.

I'm sure I'm still dehydrated because my pee is super dark. I'm struggling to get down 20-30 ounces a day right now.

Ive also read that when you aren't eati much, your body has a harder time if you try to give it a large dose of sugar. As little as I've been eating, that drink was a serious shock to my system. So that's another reason I think it was off.

I had a peanut utter toast about 45 mi uses before the drink because no one said it was fasting. But then the girl at the lab said I shouldn't have had breakfast. So that could've been part of it too.

Overall I see no reason to bother with the second test.

I'm so sorry!

Maybe they will let you take the 1hr over again and fast?

you have every right to refuse the second test. I think all thos factors made the numbers high.

ps. i have a hard time when im on my ipad too, ive learned to really go back and check my work, or edit posts later. lol

pffft the peanut butter toast alone is the throwing factor, these doctors need to do the test RIGHT if they are going to do non-fasting test there needs to be a baseline draw and then they can at least accurately gauge. Any lab will tell you there needs to be an eight to twelve hour fast before a glucose test. The fact that doctors are going against the lab protocols and then failing and doing more unnecessary testing on patients is just wrong.

I did the 1 hour test which wasn't fasting and didn't have a baseline draw. It's actually hardly used around here anymore. Most people go for the 2 hour test which is fasting and has a baseline draw I think. I did the 1 hour because I'm lazy.
