I have been very sick all weekend. I haven't thrown up but I feel like I'm dying. I feel sick when I'm hungry and feel sick after I eat. I have been living on the couch. DH is out picking up a used freezer that was 2 hours away and I'm just trying to keep DD alive. We have been snuggling and watching movies. Poor DH. No dinner. He's going to have to bath DD. I just ate some mashed potatoes but they didn't go over super well.

Big hugs to you. This sucks.

I feel ya! I have been absolutely hungry and nauseous all weekend long.

Maybe call the doc and see if they can up the dose?

Mary and Heather - Sorry y'all are suffering too. Sad I'm already at 8 mg of zofran, can you go higher than that? #Wish I wasn't self employed right now.

Sorry you have it so bad Sad ((hugs)). I'm actually doing ok right now, better than previous pregnancies for sure. Having fairly constant nausea but not so bad I can't function and haven't even had to hurl yet. Hope I'm not jinxing myself. I've had it bad in the past though and I know how miserable it is. I never took zofran much b/c I didn't feel it helped me in the past. Hope you can find something that works for you.

*hugs* I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. I'm in the same boat as Lynn - it's better this pregnancy than the previous two. I also hope I don't jinx myself!

mine just kicked in this morning, but it's functionable. I didn't have it with DS, so this is new to me.

I know the feeling, been dealing with it for over 6 weeks now! Just keep your belly full. I have yet to find anything that really helps.

Oooh, I feel normal this morning. I've only been up 20 minutes though... LOL. I don't want this feeling to END! LOL

I might hit the grocery store this morning. What should I buy to eat when I feel gross?

I'm so sorry... I don't have any magic cure for you. Just try different things and if something works go with it.

I had a terrible week last week... the worst I've ever had. Luckily I know from past pregnancies (mine are all similar enough) that week 7 is always the worst for me. It seems to be proving true. The last couple days have actually been "liveable." There were a couple days last week where I just wanted to curl up and die! I think from here on out I will still get waves of nausea, but they will gradually get better with each passing week. One thing that did help on my 2 worst days was Mountain dew... probably just about the worst thing I could consume, BUT it was only for a few days, and for some reason it was the "right" citrus flavor.

I have had horrible m/s so far this time around. i have found saltines, lemon water, and potato chips help when my meds don't. That is once i got it under control. lol.

Oh yes, I wanted to curl up and die pretty much all weekend. Yesterday morning I spent like 4 hours on the sofa laying down like a zombie. Ugh. I wish there was a miracle food that would help. LOL

*hugs* girls! I'm miserable too although my promethazine prescription seems to help make me function (although it makes me soooo sleepy!). My m/s is the worst this pregnancy. My DD was pretty bad though, but son was occasional mild nausea...can I trade for that again??

It's a really tough season...I wish there were a fast forward!

I don't know of any miracle food but anything that I actually enjoyed eating when it was soooo bad was a miracle to me. One thing I always kept on hand, once I discovered it, with DS1 was lentil soup. I just had some for lunch so that reminded me. Progresso makes a good one, so easy to keep a few cans handy at all times, pratically no prep involved.

I had it horrible with DD1, I spent my entire pregnancy lying on the couch eating only cheese sandwiches. I'm not so bad this time around thankfully, but I am finding that right now I only want french toast with lots of maple syrup. You kind of have to find the one food that does it for you. Then pray. I never took any meds, so no experience there. But huge hugs since I can't even imagine how hard your work must be right now!

Today is going better! I had 1/2 a bagel and cream cheese for first breakfast...then when we were at walmart I got a breakfast burrito from McDs...That stayed down so I had the second one a couple hours later and I was fine with that too. Phew. I'm about to go find some lunch...wish me luck. Every meal is a gamble....

On the plus side I also got some work done today! Phew!

The max typically for zofran is 8mg every 8 hours. There is also compazine and a few others, but they can make you veeeery tired. Carbs help me. Bagels and cream cheese. I carb load like crazy, it's the only thing other than zofran that helps me. Salty stuff too, like pretzels or chips. Maybe not the healthiest... I'm lucky in that I'm thin and have crazy low blood pressure so I don't have to worry about salt intake or eating so many bagels and pasta!

I'm eating my lemon with salt right now. This evening has been some better and I've only thrown up (knocking on wood) once today. Chasing 8 kids while this exhausted and sick is less than fun, but I'm managing somehow and I think everyone had fun today ... Well I pretended like I had fun today, lol.

EIGHT kids? I couldn't do that on a good day...pregnant or not!

I've had a pretty good day today too. I've eaten a somewhat normal diet...even had a vegetable or two. yay!

Ha!! Well, it's how I stay home with my kids - watch everyone else's too, lol. I don't think I would call my diet today normal, but I've managed to keep down most of what I ate, so I'm calling it a success!

Mine wasn't totally normal either...but I had some meat and veggies...not just carbs. LOL. I also made actual food and didn't just eat processed garbage.

:lurk:
Lauren, I get hyperemesis and last pregnancy was vomiting even on 8mg of zofran every 8 hours. I could feel it wear off after 5-6 hours so when I talked with my MW she agreed to let me take it every 6 hours. I really made the difference But, that was after we were pretty sure it wasn't viable, and I'm not sure if that affected her willingness to let me take more. It can't hurt to ask, though!

Thanks Pico! Yeah, it's at about 5-6 hours that it gets bad again. I'm going to try to hold off until my appointment on the 12th, but I'll ask then.
