Blizzard Draco

Here we are just got 6 in yesterday and spending the day preparing for the Blizzard. We are getting food, milk, everything we may need if we get stuck. We are expected to get 16 inches between midnight and 3am Friday. Anyone else effected?

Wow! Crazy they can predict that far in advance to THAT accuracy.

We don't have a blizzard warning but we did have snow 2 days ago and again last night. This is RARE for us this morning. Just waiting to hear if schools are closed this morning...because then daycare will be closed. Currently it looks like a couple inches on our road.

I wish, I don't think we will ever have any winter here.

Central New Mexico here... yeah we're getting stuff. Not a huge amount of rain/snow, but massive amounts of wind (up to 70 mph wind gusts), so it makes it pretty nasty. My poor DH has to work outside too... Sad

And the bad part about when New Mexico gets snow is that so many people don't know what the heck to do in the snow. I think it snowed a couple inches when we were in Albuquerque and it shut down half the city. Same goes for rain.

Wow that's a serious storm! Sounds like a great idea to be stocked up on essentials!

We've had a few storms that have give us close to a foot at our house, but that's nothing special here. I remember schools being closed once when I was little but we'd had like 2.5+ feet overnight. Where I'm at in Utah, no one gets too excited about snow storms because we deal with them half the year!

Yes!!! People have no clue what to do! I've lived in the midwest almost my entire life, so a little New Mexico snow I can handle. Now the wind - that takes some getting use to.

Im right on lake Michigan (1/2 a mile down the road) and we get lake effect snow so it could be even worse. It was funny when i lived in london they got a light covering (not even measurable) and even the TUBE closed down lol. It was hillarious, absolutely no one on the streets and alot of places were closed too. When i first moved out here there was about 4 ft and 8-12 ft drifts.

Kia: yikes!! That's a ton of snow! We have lake effect snow here too, but we don't get drifts like that (at least not in our area!)

I live in Kentucky. Our forecast has 50's and 60's for the highs. Even down here that is warmer that usual. It doesn't feel very Christmasy when you can go outside in you shirtsleeves. Sad

We are in NJ. No snow here. But we do fine with snow here. They usually don't close the schools here unless there is about 6in or so or if there is a heck of a lot of ice that its impossible to drive on the roads.

Wow! That's crazy! That's quite a bit of snow! How do the buses drive through it all?
