Cake Pops
Has anyone made cake pops? I got one of those cake pop makers for Christmas and want to use it for DD's birthday this weekend. I'm a bit scared by what I'm getting myself into. Anyone have tips and tricks?
I wanted to do a test run this week...thinking I could use them for her ACTUAL birthday on Saturday (party is Sunday). How long are these good for? Can you freeze them once they're done and thaw them with good results?

THANKS! I've been searching Pinterest for ideas but so many are just PHOTOS of cake pops or instructions on how to make them by rolling up mushed cake.

I have made them from scratch without the cake pop maker. They were really cute, but very time consuming! I would make some just to see how it will go. Good luck!

I've never made them, but I'm 100% sure you can freeze them :-)

Ok, so I was just at the craft store and bought those candy melt things to dip them in. I also got white sprinkles. I might just dip them in the candy and put white sprinkles on and be done. I'm starting to worry about how much I have to do by Sunday...so I need to pick my battles!

They do take some time.. I'd give yourself a couple hours if you're not making them special shapes or anything. I've never used the cake pop makers.. just the good ol fashioned roll into a ball, myself. SUPER easy and got a MILLION compliments on them!
Now I might just have to make some. Been craving chocolate this weekend.

I got a cake pop maker last year for Christmas. love it, hated that it didnt make very many at a time. I used a full cake mix and it took fOREVER. Howver they did freeze wonderfully and DS snacked on them frozen from the freezer for quite a while. I would assume the could freeze at least a year (like wedding cake) however ours didnt last that long;) I have also made htem by crumbling a cake and mixing icing in with it. both ways are yummy

Patience, Did you freeze them after they were totally made? Stick in and everything?
