What's new this morning??

My DS1 wore underwear to bed last night for the first time. Both DD (almost 6) and DS1 (4) are in Pullups usually still. Both DH and I were bed wetters until age 12, so we figured there was no hope for our kids!!! LOL. DD still has troubles staying dry, but DS1 has been dry a fair amount lately, so we let him wear underwear last night. He was so happy this morning! Granted, he got up early, I think to use the bathroom, but at least he got up and didn't just lie there and pee.

DS2 woke up covered, and I mean COVERED in green snot. His whole face. His PJ shirt - big green globs of snot all over it. His blankie.....BOOGERS. Ugh. Poor kid. He is eating a giant orange for breakfast.....bring on the Vit C!

I barely slept last night. I get "popcorn disease" when I eat like crap. It used to only happen when I ate popcorn. Then it started when I ate other food like potato chips, icecream, anything fatty. Yesterday I ate really badly (I ate like a whole box of graham crackers and kept on snacking until late in the evening on marshmallow cereal, wasn't even hungry....ate tons of cookies too....) so I was rolling around all night with a sore tummy, and stinky gas out of both ends. Blech. My own fault.

LOL "popcorn disease" Sorry you felt so terrible. Stomach aches when your guts are out of place already are pretty miserable. Nice going to your big boy! My DD struggles with nighttime too. Poor baby boy, I hope he feels better. BOTH of my kids have horrible head colds, so therefore DH & I both have them a bit too. Kids are so sick and coughing to the point that they don't sleep, which means I don't sleep. I haven't gotten more than 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep since Saturday night into Sunday. *sigh* After this week, dealing with a newborn's eating schedule will be cake.

Ugh, I hate when the whole house is sick.

I forgot how much sleep SUCKS the last few weeks of pregnancy. I remember last time just wanting baby to be born because I thought I'd sleep even better once he arrived. I hate constantly tossing and turning.

Ugh! DD came home from daycare last night with the sniffles too! Sad I was hoping she didn't have a cold but then I realized that would be better than seasonal allergies!

Yay for your DS staying dry all night. We've been very lucky with DD's iron bladder. We still restrict her liquid intake before bed though, just in case.

So I washed and put away tiny pink clothes yesterday. Now I have some boy, girl and neutral ready to go! I haven't washed the cloth diapers yet but they were clean when they went into storage. I guess my hospital bag needs to happen soon. Oh, I made a big batch of tuna noodle casserole yesterday and froze 4 meals worth! Yay!

I wish I had more freezer space! I want to make freezer meals. Way to go!

I am going through all the clothes this week too. I already went through the "big" stuff (sizes 3-5) and got rid of *sniff sniff* all the GIRL stuff. My church is having a kids clothing swap, so at least the pretty girl stuff will get a new home! Now I am on to reorganizing the boys stuff in sizes NB-2T. I didn't put it away very nicely after DS2. He is in size 18-24 and almost 2T now, so I'm bringing all that stuff out. Also I need to bring out all the 0-3 stuff for new little man.

Sorry about the sick baby Sandra. It's especially hard (at least for me) the littler they are... Sad SOrry you are feeling crummy too. Honestly, it sounds more like carb and sugar overload then anything else. When you feel like eating again, try and get in a good balance of protein and fat. It should help you feel satisfied and keep you from wanting to snack as much. - So weird, but we just got a new computer, and ever since I haven't been able to form "new paragraphs" when I respond in this forum. All I can do is make one giant paragraph. - About the bed wetting. My first dd was night and day trained at the same time, right at 2.5. My next was day trained shortly after 2, but it wasn't until she turned 3 (right at 3) that she night trained. My next day trained right before 3, but now at 5 still soaks her pull up almost every night. My next, day and night trained shortly after turning 2. So, my little Ellie has been wearing undies at night for quite some time now, while her big sister still wears pull ups. Go figure. They are all different!! - Woohoo for freezer meals, that will be nice. I don't think I will do much of that. I will likely just do a lot of "stick a roast in the slow cooker" type meals. I do that anyway. Nothing too complex around here for the most part. Although I do bake bread and muffins almost every night. Easy recipes though. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING is pretty much made from scratch around here, so there is a LITTLE work involved. I may make a couple loafs of bread and some muffins for the freezer. We shall see. Honestly, cooking with a newborn around isn't that big a deal anymore. I either let the rest of the kiddos entertain the baby, or I strap her on in a carrier and keep on cooking. - I don't really hold onto much in the way of clothes. If the girl's clothes make it through a season, usually a sister can wear it the following year, and I hold onto it (if I really like it). Other then that, I give a lot away. I just don't really hold onto much of anything (and we don't have the space to anyway). I think I have around 40 outfits or so for the new baby, and I probably only paid around $25 for all of it. You gotta love thrift stores (especially for the itty bitty sizes - super cheap).

Sandra, sorry about the upset tummy last night and poor little bugger man...hope that clears up quickly. We've BTDT recently but both kiddos are actually pretty healthy ATM.

I slept pretty well once I was able to get in bed but I had some really not fun bouts of diarrhea last night. Thankfully it waited until after I got home from church. Sad Sorry TMI! Made me think of Patience's post though...hopefully that doesn't mean impending labor.

I have not started washing anything yet. She will be staying with DH and I and our room is a disaster area right now. Hoping to make some progress on that this weekend so maybe the next I'll start getting her clothes out. I'm not even 34 weeks yet so still feels like time is crawling to me. I'm not in a big hurry but I guess I really should be pretty quickly. Especially considering I've never carried to 37 weeks before. I'm still of the mindset I'll make it that far though so we'll see. Smile

I have been uncomfortable, sore belly and really exhausted all week. I'm so tired today! Dropping DS1 off at preschool this morning I was waddling in so slow just feeling really heavy and achy. How are you ladies feeling? Have any energy?

Woot! for dryness through the night! DS was big trouble to actually get potty trained, because everytime we had it going consistently we would move houses (and usually states) and that would throw him off big time and we would have to start over from scratch.

I am trying to pack up the house and it is going slooooow, I get maybe a box packed then am ready for a nap...

Sorry for all the runny noses! Yay for petty training, I am not looking forward to that tho it shouldn't be bad bc dd seems to hold her bladder for 6 hr stretches a lot since she was 10 months old.
New for me is I went shopping, got dds blog sister outfit and a few cute matching skirts and shirts for the girls as well as some individual summer clothes for both, I now have abt 8 NB summer outfits or so. Lol, not many at all. To I plan on borrowing my sisters clothes again :).
So couldn't sleep well last night bc i felt like when u go 6 hrs not breast feeding. Just owie. Well this am boobs swollen and leaking now. Pooped 8 times in 24 hrs, last one was diareah and have been constipated till now happy to poop once a day, and my Back hurts off and on.... But otherwise I am just busy getting ready and cleaning cooking and doing laundry. Feels good, also need groceries today and s&h and I have a real date tonight! So hope no baby for at least a few days lol

Ugh, I would dread moving right now!!!! Good luck Mary!

Well, I got started early on the organizing and already have the 0-3 month stuff in the drawers, and the 3-6 month stuff in a tote ready to go. My boys are so big they only wear NB clothes for 1 week and 0-3 month stuff for about 6 weeks. My DS2 had his baby blessing at church when he was 5 weeks old and wore 3-6 month clothes already. So I need the 3-6 month stuff easily accessible!

Now moving on to the 6-12 and 12-18 stuff. After that I will be organized!

Lynn, I always feel ridiculous going to get DD from Kindergarten and get DS2 off his bus. I just hobble around like an uber fat person LOL. Not much energy these days.

Lynn: I felt really similar from 32-34 weeks. Hope you get some relief soon (mine body finally quit bugging me and I felt normal again...before I got sick obviously).

Mary: GL with packing. I have a love/hate with packing. It really sucks, but I get to indulge in my favorite thing while doing it which is throwing stuff away (or donating obviously). I have a weird love of getting rid of stuff.

Kia: that's how my DS is. I'm hoping he's easier to train than my DD. Hope your body gives you a break so you can have a nice night tonight!

Sandra: I'm doing the same thing with clothes right now. Putting away DD's winter stuff that she definitely won't fit into next year, same with DS's winter stuff (no way would I get two winters out of anything of his), then pulling out his baby stuff. I have 2 friends having babies at the end of the summer and I'm hoping one of them has a girl (one knows she's having a boy and other is team green) so I have someone to give my cute girl clothes too! I spent way too much money on my DD's baby clothes because of the novelty of having a baby to dress and girl accessories are just too much fun. I keep reminding DH how much money we'll save only having one girl because that just seems to get worse as they get older! Wink ITA about sleeping the last few weeks although this one hasn't been nearly as bad as my others as far as comfort goes. If only insomnia and the other 2 didn't keep me awake I could probably get some decent sleep!

Heather: nicely done having clothes ready to roll! I would love to freeze ahead some meals but I have a small/odd freezer so I'm like Laurie and will likely just do a lot of easy meals for a while.

I'm actually feeling really good these days... way too good for this point in the pregnancy. It has me worried that I have another tiny baby in there. I felt really good all the way until about the last week with Aidan and when he was born, he only weighed a little over 5 pounds (at 38 weeks). My others were all 2 pounds heavier then that, and I started feeling more discomfort around 32-33 weeks into the pregnancy (around when they probably hit the 5 pound mark). Aidan was perfectly healthy in every way, and we have no idea why he was so small. Anyway, I just feel better if they are a little bigger at birth - like if they end up getting sick or something they won't just waste away or something.

I gotta say, I do enjoy having big, healthy babies, but just ONCE I would love to push out a baby less than 7 lbs! That would be like.....so easy for me! LOL. Not going to happen.

Well, (TMI) I just had a bowel movement and that usually makes me feel a ton better when I get popcorn disease. So here's to a more comfortable afternoon!

DS2 has been SO snuggly today, which is a bit odd for him. He is always quite attached to me but usually plays pretty well on his own. But he just spent the last 40 minutes sitting on my lap with his blankie and making "singing" noises. Must not be feeling all that well, the poor booger. Can't get anything done with a toddler on my (non-existent) lap!

Aren't you excited for your laps to come back? LOL.

I hear ya on the lap issue! Both my boys like me to rock them at night before bed. A 2 year old and 4.5 yr old both piling on me with this big ol belly is quite a scene I'm sure. Smile

I didn't have a big freezer last pregnancy so this is new for me. Not sure how much we'll want to use the oven in the summer though...hummmm...oh well.

Laurie - Muffins every night! WOAH. Super mom. I hear ya though, cooking often isn't bad with a newborn. The 3 year old will be the problem I bet. I also figured we'll have less money once baby comes so buying some extra food now will help stretch things out. I love thrift store shopping!!! I think this baby might be small-ish too. They didn't tell me how he/she was measuring at my 20 week u/s so I'm guessing sort of average. People keep telling me I look small though and I don't feel super crammed organs like I did with DD. She was born 10 days before her due date and was 7lbs 4oz, which is a nice size.

Lynn - Sometimes I think it's early to get the clothes ready but it was one of those nesting things I just HAD to accomplish. Plus, any given evening can be a write off if I feel crappy. The other night I went to bed right after DD did. Blum 3

Kia - Take it easy and keep that little girl IN! YAY for matching sibling outfits. If I have a second girl it will be hard not to have a few matching ones. Blum 3 Sorry you aren't feeling well.

Sandra - I don't even have a pregnant waddle yet, I just feel so tired and sluggish. I sort of meander around. Ugh. Oh, I can't wait for my lap to come back. When DD leans on my tummy it hurts! The other night I was hot though so it was nice she only contacted with the tip of my tummy. I still had air flow up top!!!

Mary - Good luck with the move. I can't imagine trying to do that right now. Sad

I'm exhausted and it's not even noon. Sad

Laurie: or maybe your body is just used to this whole pregnancy thing by now and that's why you are more comfortable? I'm the least uncomfortable I've been with all 3 so far by a long shot with this one.

Kia: GL figuring out a dresser. I still need to move my DD's from the baby's room to her new room but I'm now too big to do it and need DH to get someone else to help him. If it wasn't on another floor, I'd probably be okay. For baby, I bought a 4x4 cube from IKEA and put baskets in it. That's what I've done for my DS1's room and it works great, but boys have way fewer accessories than girls too Wink

Yes I want my lap back! The flight home from Mexico a month ago was bad enough with DS on my lap for 3 1/2 hours!! At this point, I pretty much never hold my kids when I'm sitting unless they're really sad or something. Otherwise we're at the "sit next to me on the couch and I'll put my arm around you" phase.

Sandra, I hope you do start feeling better now! You know, my 4th delivery was actually my easiest, and she weighed 2 more pounds then Aidan... he was my second hardest labor/delivery. Go figure!! At least when he finally decided to come out, he did shoot out like a torpedo, so that part was nice, lol. I've never had to push out a baby close to 10 pounds though. My biggest was just over 8. That wasn't too bad though. She was one of my easiest actually - probably because I had an epi! Ashley, I think this pregnancy (other than the pukey first tri) may actually be the best I have ever felt during a pregnancy. Not that I have particularly horrible pregnancies or anything. Crazy.

This is totally me too! I can't believe how bad it is so early on. I have been really miserable since like 28 wks.

Luckily I have long legs, so DD still fits on my lap - but when she tries to climb all over me when I'm sitting on the floor I keep having to dump her down beside me. Lap only works on a chair!

We also just got rid of diapers at night! Woohoo! She has been ready for a while, but I was so lazy/slow with buying the mattress pad for her. Finally she asked me for it, so I went ahead and did it. Not only does she wake up dry, but she doesn't even pee first thing. Even when not pregnant I have to pee so bad when I wake up!

We also have the dresser issue. All the 0-3 & 3-6 are washed, and on top of a closet lol. I might just clean out a drawer (I don't know how since they're so stuffed) in my dresser since the babe will be in our room anyway.

Today was one of those days that started super stressed. Decided to go to the states to apply for my social security so that I can file taxes properly, and then I couldn't get the form to take DD across the border. Then I finally got the form to work, and my printer wouldn't work. Plugged it into the other computer, printer was fine but the program stalled. I swear it took like 40 minutes to print this damn form. Finally got it printed, only to go fill it out and realize that my passport was expired and I couldn't go anyway!!! Argh! At least my day turned around after that since the passport office was SOOO fast, DD had a relaxing day (despite no nap) which I think she really needed since she's been running around so much the past few days (ie playing at the park for hours on end), and I got to get into the gym.

GAHHHHHHHHHHHH

I was taking the LRT to choir tonight and had to RUN down the stairs and through the station to catch the train! I completely screwed up my groin even more than it was before! Can barely walk, my SPD is soooooooooo bad. I should have just been late for choir and taken the next train. Stupid.

Sandra - Ouch! That does not sound pleasant!

This baby girl is making it hard for me to walk around, which sucks because I really want to get out and do things. Luckily we have a pool close to our house and DS LOVES swimming, so I go with him a few nights a week and the weightlessness feels amazing!

Sandra, would a heat pack help at all with the groin pain?

I have had hip pain for quite some time and from about 15-22 weeks I had the everything is going to fall out of my woman parts feeling, that went away and is now on the comeback as she is dropping. eek.

I am going out to lunch with my mom and one of my sisters today.

For as much as we don't have, it sure is taking forever to pack this apartment up, probably because I am unmotivated. Oh well, still got five more days...

I still can't believe you are managing a move right now. I can barely wrap my head around laundry, dinner and cleaning. If we hadn't gone WAY over budget on takeout and eating out the last few months, I would be ordering out every night because I simply don't want to cook. Let alone pack up a house and move. That's awesome though!

We don't really have much of a choice, since my little red car broke down, DH has been driving SUV of Doom to and from work and its costing us 200+ in gas every paycheck. The place we are moving to is eight miles from his job. So even if SUV of Doom dies he can bike to work (really not holding out hope that he will actually do that though.)

Sandra, that is so not good... Sad I really hope it will get better over the next few days to at least being "livable." Noelle, smart about the pool. Definitely take advantage of that. Mary, yep, moving is quite a chore, even if there isn't much stuff. The nice thing though, is that I always just end up tossing and giving away a bunch of stuff that I don't really need anyway... simply so I won't have to pack it!

We are going to visit a ranch a couple hours from here tomorrow. We are likely going to purchase 1/2 a cow/beef from them this fall, and they invited us out to tour their ranch, and have burgers for lunch. Smile AND... after that we are going to head out another couple hours to pick up a washer and drier set from someone that my DH found on craigslist. Apparently it's a REALLY good deal on a high efficiency set. We haven't had a washer and drier "at home" in close to 3 years, so this should be nice!! Smile Although it will be weird to have to start doing a load of laundry everyday, instead of just doing it all once a week at the Laundromat. - I'm still feeling really good, which is so nice. The only "issue" I was having was with leg cramps at night. I would wake up in the middle of the night and get horrible cramps in my calves. Well, I remember from my past pregnancies that that is due to a potassium deficiency, so I've been eating 1/2 a banana everyday for the past week, and problem solved. No issues at all the last couple nights!! Smile

Ugh, I hate those leg cramps. I get feet cramps, and I can never remember if I am supposed to flex or point to make them go away! (Definitely flex. Pointing makes it worse. I re-discover this every time)

I was changing DS2's diaper on the living room floor and afterwards was stuck there for 5 minutes. I couldn't get up. Finally after 5 minutes of trying unsuccessfully and painfully, I managed to crawl over to the TV stand and slowly hoist myself up. I really hope this doesn't continue much longer and it is just aggravated from my mad dash last night. I am only comfortable while lying down with a pillow between my legs. Which is not feasible all day with my 3 monkeys at home.

Oh Sandra, you poor thing!! I hope you can at least get some down time today to try to heal up a bit Sad

Mary: "the SUV of Doom" ROFL DH commutes in his full size truck and it gets 11 MPG so I understand. Luckily, he doesn't do much driving throughout the day otherwise but I miss the days when he had a company car! His work is only ~13 miles away though so it isn't horrible. GL with making progress on packing and whatnot today!

No big weekend plans here. Just hoping to get over this dang head cold!! It's like 75 here today so I'm thinking after the kids' naps, we'll blow up the pool (too bad it isn't a BIG one that I can take advantage of like Noelle!) and play outside. Maybe some fresh air will help us all out.

I wish had somewhere to swim that would feel amazing right now! As for the weekend I am supper duper excited. My sisters are coming with 3 of the six hooligans from tomorrow afternoon to Sunday! I haven't seen kier since Xmas, and therefore her little man either and he was a month old then! I'm beyond excited to see them! (I also will get the (sisterhood of the) traveling baby clothes) yay! Then Sunday at 1 mil is having a Mother's Day party.

I'm at a loss as to what to do for mother's day and by mother's day I mean MIL and my mother's day. I don't think I've actually ever had one.

Its been easy in past years if my mom has worked on mother's day because we would would split the weekend between the two.

His mom is easy going, but that doesn't make things easy. My mom says not to worry about her so I don't stress but I think that is more about she doesn't like to 'share' well and wouldn't be keen on it being both moms for mother's day. ARGHHHH!

Brunch would be nice I think, but my mom turned her nose up at that. So frustrating.

Lucas has been waking up dry for a month now. It's a miracle. He's almost six! And he potty trained himself at about 28 months old, but nights have never happened. I'm so excited for him!

i agree on bigger babies. Tiny ones freak me out. Thankfully even my 37 weeker was 7.5 lbs! I'm seriously expecting Oliver to be huge. He already looks chubby and don't I still have a few weeks before he starts packing it on?

Iam on self imposed bed rest today. Soooo bored. But last night I had pretty icky contractions that took several hours of rest and fluids to calm down. I have a busy day on Sunday so I'm hoping if I do nothing until then, I'll be ok.

Oh man, a pool sounds so nice. We have YMCA memberships but if I go swimming I'd have to take all the kids LOL. Which is not relaxing.

I managed to lay in bed from about 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm, only getting up a few times. I think it helped. Have to go get DD from school now though. Getting in the car is so hard!

What's for dinner?

I am feeling so lazy, but we have no money for takeout.

Got the last piece of baby stuff, a swing (one of the fisher price aquarium ones) for ten bucks at a yard sale, and my sister paid for it since I didn't have any cash on me, she wouldn't let me pay her back though...We also went and ate lunch with my mom at this Gyro/ turkish type place. Had a delicious chicken Gyro and some not too bad hummus (not usually a hummus person)... now I want another Gyro.

That's the swing we have! I love it. Smile

out running errands. Sort of. Mostly sitting in the car watching Jon do all the work. I was bored in the house.

Sounds like a nice afternoon! So nice to have everything you need now!

I went easy for supper and made mini pizzas on tortillas I had left from tacos last night. Thankfully I had mozza cheese left, and a bit of ham deli meat.

Sandra that sounds like more of a dinner than we are doing here. lol

The swing is pretty great and they seem to last forever, my sister got one with my oldest niece and it made its way through her three kids and my three of my brothers kids before the motor went out finally.

Yeah, I got a swing second hand when I had DD in 2007. It's been through all my kids and who knows how many before! But I wish it was a nicer one. It has no toys or anything, just a swing with buckles to strap baby in. It does play some songs.

I really want a new playmat. Ours got wrecked when DS2 was younger, and I keep finding ones second hand online but keep neglecting to arrange to pick them up.

Oh man!!!!!! Just saw a PPB Touring Tote listed on my local Kijiji for $30 :jawdrop: It's in excellent condition, in a pattern I like! I totally just emailed to see if it is available. Even though I already have 2 PPB bags.....LOL.

I got a playmat at the thrift store for five dollars, the Fisher Price Rainforrest one, and it is only missing one of the original link-a-doo things.

WOOT on the PPB tote, if I weren't so cheap I would totally get one.

Dang, it is already pending pickup, but I am second in line if the first lady doesn't show up!

I have that playmat also, it's super cute! My DD never used it really (or the swing or anything else that wasn't my arms ;)) but my DS loved that thing.

Boooooo! I hope they don't pick up. I love my PPB bags! I just had hubby bring my boxy backpack down from the attic.

I bought a second hand play mat for $6 or something, the I had a friend give me a very fancy one for free! Score!

DD seems sick. Ugh. Lethargic, not eating and coughing. It's almost 3pm and I'm still in my PJs. So boring. Sad

Boo, for K not feeling well, hopefully it is just some hay fever or something.

We got up stoopid early this morning, I tried to lay in bed and play asleep then DH made me get up... I am ready for bed.

Sad I hate sick kids. I hope it is not too serious!

We were up early too today. DS1 is doing awesome with wearing underwear to bed but that means he gets up early to go pee and doesn't go back to sleep LOL. Thankfully I got a nap with DS2, but DS1 is SOOOOOO exhausted and will just have to keep being grumpy til bedtime!

My kids had swimming today, and we also went to a carnival at our church. There were bouncy castles, face painting, hot dogs and popcorn, and other games. They had a good time but I was tired of chasing around DS2.

I'm pretty sure something is wrong with K. A cold or something perhaps. We are downstairs now after 4 hours in bed. LOL. I was getting bored up there. I got her to eat some popcorn and drink some juice. Juice is only a birthday party treat around here and for when you're sick. She hadn't peed much today so I broke it out.

I was on my tablet earlier so typing was a pain. I forgot to say the pool thing is so great! I haven't been to the pool recently but we have a hot tub we've been going in a lot. We turned it down for K and my pregnant self. We went out last night and the night before after dinner. She'll play in there for like an hour and I just sit and watch. SO nice. She can touch the bottom this year which is nice! She couldn't touch last year and now it's SO low on her chest. She must have grown almost a foot in a year!

DH went to MIL's house today to haul stuff to the dump. She's a hoarder so it's good she's getting rid of stuff. A pick-up truck full every couple weeks. When DH bought our pick-up truck he KNEW his mom would 'make' him move stuff for him...so he got her to pay for half the truck! How perfect is that? Ok, it's only a 1992 F150, so not fancy...but it does the trick. We mainly wanted it to pull our travel trailer and have as a back-up vehicle. We drive our car the most.

Oh, speaking of travel trailer...I booked camping for next weekend! HA HA! I'm crazy, I know. Camping at 36 weeks. Blum 3 Not really. We have a trailer so I won't be sleeping on the ground. We picked a private RV park instead of the traditional camping we normally do where we have no services and lots of trees. The site is right on the ocean so even if I feel tired hubby can take DD to the beach. She has been so excited to camp that I didn't want the baby stuff to ruin this year for her. Also, because I booked a private site they said they will refund me if I have the baby early and can't make it. The Provincial sites wouldn't do that.

Ugh, I'm going insane. I think I need to go out when hubby gets back.

Sounds like a fun day Sandra! At least when she's sick she lets me be lazy. Blum 3
