The kids and I made sugar cookies tonight. I forgot to wear an apron and now my belly is covered in.....all sorts of baking ingredients. LOL.

I packed a cute lunch for DS tomorrow - heart shaped sandwich, and I even carved his apple slice in to a heart shape LOL. Ridiculous.

Last night DH and I booked our flights for our family to go to Phoenix...at Christmas time. LOL. Yeah, we booked over 10 months in advance. Found a killer deal! Since DS2 will be over 2 years old, he needs his own seat next Christmas, so we need 5 seats. That's like....$3500 usually. Managed to snag 5 round trip tickets from Edmonton to Phoenix for a total of $1700!!! DH feels so relieved because we wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise. My IL's have a bunch of places in Phoenix and we usually got down for Christmas every 2nd year. But now that our family is so big (holy cow, family of 6) it is getting so expensive! Glad we found those flights. DH just randomly decided to search for flights last night, haha.

YAY for having flights booked! SO exciting! Did you have to put baby's name on as your lap infant? LOL.

I'm just sitting here trying to find motivation to work on this terrible hat I said I'd make. It's a soccer ball...you have to make 26 little shapes and then sew them together. UGH. Why did I say I'd do this? I'm also watching a documentary on Auschwitz...so uplifting. LOL. Oh, and baby is wiggling like crazy!

That's a great price Sandra!

I made red, heart shaped pancakes for DS this morning with strawberries and eggs benedict for DH.

Family is starting to come in today and we leave for a cruise on sunday! I'm so excited!!

Yay for a cruise - have a great time! Where are you going??

Heather: Oy, a soccer ball hat sounds like quite the project!

Sandra: Nice deal score! I know what you mean about flying a bigger family around being expensive - I'm already annoyed enough just paying for my DD right now, but DS will be 2 in July and then we'll have to pay for him too. How long is the flight to Phoenix from where you are?

Just hit me that I told DD I'd make her heart pancakes before school. Oops - better go!!

Yikes, a soccer ball hat??? Good thing you are crafty!

We will have a crappy day of traveling on December 23rd (stop in Calgary, stop in Denver, traveling for 8 hours) but not as crappy as some crazy trips we have done in the past! I didn't put baby's name in yet as a passenger - since you can't book lap infants online anyways, we will call and add him at a later date.....you know.....once he's actually born, and he has a name Wink

Now I feel like I should make a cute breakfast! But I probably won't. LOL.

I need to get off my bottom and make DD's lunch. I had plans for heart things...we'll see how I do. Blum 3

Yes, the soccer ball hat SUCKS. Projects like that are good de-motivators. Blum 3

This trip is our first time paying for DD to fly, which is why I got an Alaska Airlines mastercard...for the companion fare! We're flying Seattle to Atlanta...my ticket was $509.61 and because DD can use the companion fare, she cost $99 plus tax! ($128.03 total for her). So for $637.64 we're both flying...then DH used some other airmiles we have and he just had to pay the tax, so like $36 or something for his ticket. I was SO happy to get that deal. Once this baby is 2 hubby will have to get an Alaska Airlines credit card so we get two companion fares. Blum 3

Ohhhh, I need to get off my bottom here.

We had enough Aeroplan points for DH and 2 kids one way, but that put us on different flights. While I'm sure I would have survived the way there with new baby and my DD, I'm glad we found these flights and we can fly together!
That companion fare is awesome!

We had boring breakfast. I will try and do a fun lunch for DD....if I manage to get off MY rear.

Ya, hubby's points, Avion I think, allow him to book ANY flights. It's so awesome. So I was booking DD and I on one computer and he was next to me booking himself on his computer. We waited for each other at the seat selection page and got us all seated together! LOVE it!

DD had chocolate for breakfast. LMAO. Special day, right? Blum 3

I'm not a big Valentine's person but DD wanted pancakes for breakfast yesterday and I wasn't in the mood so I told her I'd make heart shaped pancakes today for V-day, so I totally did it to myself. She ended up barely eating any because she'd rather chat (despite me telling her a thousand time to eat!!) so she went to preschool with barely any breakfast in her and when I picked her up I could tell she was really hungry and grumpy. Luckily, they had a V-day party so I'm sure she didn't notice until the second she got in the car and away from the excitement.

Took DS to Old Navy while DD was in school because I had a gift card and they're having a "big" baby sale...wasn't too impressed. I remember why I shop clearance ONLINE. I did find DS some PJs though (he's about grown out of his 18 month ones) and DD a sweater dress (she loves dresses but we own very few winter appropriate ones without a million layers that she hates). Then as we're walking out, DS sees a flower headband on the floor and literally just stood there pointing at it. I went back (was trying to walk away to get him moving again...clearly it didn't work) and he picked it up and said his sister's name and handed it to me. How could I not get it after that?! So he got her a Valentine's gift I guess. She needed another headband anyway as DS has broken most of hers in half.

Oh, I totally agree about the online shopping. I shopped at Old Navy online last week when that kids/baby sale started, and my stuff arrived today. You can never find a good selection in stores for clearance.

DD had a great time at school today, she came home with lots of Valentine's goodies. DS didn't come home with as many, but I cheered him up with a Star Wars Angry Birds shirt that came from Old Navy today LOL.

What's for dinner?

I am making tacos. I am totally craving them. I bought ground turkey instead of ground beef though. Then I have some chocolate ganache left over from DS's birthday party last weekend that we can use as fondue for some strawberries for dessert.

Hubby and I were going to get Chinese takeout for Valentine's Day dinner instead of going out (to save money). Then he decided to do a no-carb thing this week. UGH! So I still got Chinese and he ate the spaghetti squash spaghetti we had leftover. Blum 3 Mine was yummier!

Heather: we did take out too. I'm not a huge fan of going out on Valentine's - too crowded. We actually had free meal vouchers to one of our favorite Mexican places so that's what we had; delicious AND free, woohoo!

I don't think I told you girls that our pool table came earlier this week. Long story short, the company came way late and DH came home way early and blew the surprise  Oh well. I will try to get a pic uploaded at some point today...the tan was a great choice Smile

DD's last swimming lesson for this session is today. I'm kind of glad, but I'd bet next week feels boooooring after the last few crazy ones! Probably try to get her in another session towards the end of March, it was definitely money well spent!

Oh man, I can't believe your surprise was ruined! Too bad.

We had tacos and fondue with strawberries as planned. DS2 is eating strawberries now like they are going out of style! He loved them last summer but I can't afford to buy strawberries in the winter when they are out of season. The price is finally coming down again so I can buy them occasionally. DS2 will eat the whole pack, I bet.

My kids get free swimming lessons every session with our family YMCA pass. My DD is a little fish!

Oh man, I am so jealous of your cruise!!!!!

I am having napping issues with DS2. He only wants 1 nap a day instead of 2 (and he's 14 months, so he really should be down to 1) BUT he wants it too early and then is a disaster in the evening. Right now he is lying in his crib chattering instead of napping, because he slept for about an hour in the car earlier today. Gah. The kids have a babysitter tonight, so he is going to be a MONSTER for the babysitter!

I have eaten, like, 40 Hershey's Kisses today. oops.

Sandra: had this almost exact same problem with my 19 month old. He switched to one nap at 12 months (ugh) and I had a hard time getting him to stay awake until 11 let alone 1 pm like when my DD would nap. It took a few months of having him nap early before he moved later (yeah one napping then the other really cut into my day). He would be crazy grumpy by bed time too. So I guess I don't have advice other than hang in there.

Nap management is such a pain! DD is still napping once. She goes down around 12:30 at daycare but we normally go later, like 2 ish. I'm thinking we should make it earlier at home on the days when we're home though. Just to be consistent. Some of her friends aren't napping anymore and I'm SO not ready for that!

Heather: I have friends with 2 year olds who don't nap and I'm like :jawdrop: My 3 1/2 year old still takes a 2+ hour nap most of the time (on occasion she won't settle down and lays in her bed for an hour or so before I let her get up, but she is cranky by bedtime!). My DS though will probably not nap into his 3rd year unless I get lucky...he just doesn't seem to require the sleep that she does.

Sandra: you made Hershey kisses sound good the other day and luckily DD got some for Valentine's from someone, but they tasted like garbage when I ate them. FINALLY something that is bad for me that doesn't taste like a little piece of heaven (though I'm sure my taste buds will come around sooner or later!).

I'm pretty annoyed with photobucket for changing up their whole editing format in the middle of my pregnancy! :violent2: Now my space has different fonts. Oh well...first world problems.

Oh man, I could go to sleep right now!

Ugh I spent my ENTIRE morning trying to clean a virus off our back-up computer. We generally don't even leave it on, it just hosts iTunes and a few other random things then we just use it as a mainframe to run our externals on when needed. Anyway, I used it on Wednesday then left it on just not thinking about it and apparently we had a sneaky little virus just waiting for an opportunity and my ISP totally freaked and shut down my service. Finally up and running again but WHAT A PAIN! There is a special horrible place in he!! for people who create viruses!

WHAT? Your ISP shut you down! How rude! Glad you got it cleaned off though. Do you use Windows? If so get the free Microsoft Security Essentials for that machine. We use it on all our machines now.

Thanks will do. The ISP just cut me off until I vowed it was removed.

Any big weekend plans anyone? I'm taking the kids to the aquarium with a friend and her toddler then going to dinner with the husbands (our DH's are best friends so we see them a lot). We got some snow today but tomorrow we're supposed to get a TON so DH will likely want to ski Sunday. Hopefully I can get him to do a few things around the house tomorrow.

I don't have plans. There is a big kid's stuff sale (used) at a local mall tomorrow. Starts at 9:30. I'm thinking of going but it will likely be insane. They advertise that it's going to be 20 tables like that is some major feat...which doesn't seem like a lot to me!

There's also a Teddy Bear's Picnic thing at a local toy store tomorrow I thought about taking DD to. Not sure how much I want to do that though. LOL. I love the toy store but...well...you know. Blum 3

I've been a bit MIA lately. Work has been busy for a while now and then this week was finally going to be a little more sane but we got a call Monday mid-morning that DH's father passed away. Sad We live in East TN and they are in north MS but like a mile south of the border from west TN. So we traveled back there on Tuesday and just got back tonight. It was a crazy week and just flew by with all that was going on.

So sorry for your family's loss Lynn.

Thankfully the weather has been pretty mild around here lately (still have tons of snow, but we haven't been dumped on in a while!) I am so ready for winter to be over too. I'm sick of stuffing kids in to snow suits and struggling to stuff them in their carseats. Come on spring!!!!

My two big kids have haircuts today. I usually cut DS1's hair myself but he has sensory issues and normally screams the whole time. I'm going to try one of those kids haircut places today and let THEM try and cut it! DS2 still hasn't had his first haircut. I'm not ready to trim his soft baby locks yet!

Sandra: good luck with the haircuts! My DS is at an age where he HATES me cutting his hair so I understand. That cracks me up you have made it this far without cutting your little guy's hair...my DS had probably 6 haircuts before he turned one! He had crazy hair and it would have been shoulder length if I hadn't Wink I'll try to find a few pics for proof. I still have to cut his about every month and a half at longest.

We got right past one until our first haircut with DS. He was born with a full head and then went bald aroung 6 months, lol!

Its bittersweet to be back. The cruise was fun, even though I couldn't enjoy any fruity libations and was in bed at 9 or 10 each night, lol! DS woke up this morning and asked if we were still on the boat?

No, we didn't. One of the local malls was having a kid friendly event too so we went there instead. K loves that mall as they have 2 train tables, a kitchen center, a reading area and a colouring station set up in the mall. It's great! They move the little stations around so it's like a game trying to find them. LOL. Sometimes we just go there and play on a rainy day! Anyways, they had a bouncy castle on Saturday and DD was SO excited to go in, until she found out we couldn't go in with her. Then she wouldn't go. Sad There was also a kids wear swap & shop so I bought a few things and she got a balloon animal from the clown who was there. It was fun. Then we took her through her first car wash...she was SO excited. I've never taken her as I was worried she'd be scared. She loved it.

We went to Georgetown - Grand Cayman, Falmouth-Jamaica, Cozumel-Mexico and Labadee-Haiti

The weather was gorgeous and although we don't live far from the beach, I LOVE the water in Grand Cayman. It's so beautiful.

You must have been on Royal Caribbean if you went to Labadee! Hubby and I did a similar cruise in 2007 for our honeymoon...except we went to Ocho Rios Jamaica. How did you like Grand Cayman? It was our absolute favorite port! We liked Cozumel because we rented a Jeep and cruised the island, but Grand Cayman was the best!!!!

We are big cruising fans and it is 90% of the time Royal Carribbean Wink ALthough I would like to try Celebrity again.

This time there were 19 of us onboard with 9 balconies all in a row, so we were able to open them up and have one huge balcony.
I love Grand Cayman! I think it has the priettiest beaches ever.

Oooh, i wish I could say I was a cruiser. I WISH I were. We LOVED our first one but haven't been on another. Every summer we talk of doing an Alaskan cruise as it's really close to us here where they leave from. Problem is we never have money and/or you can't go with a newborn. Anyways, one day. Sigh. I really think cruising is great for kids! So much fun!

We were really blessed because we have been on one every year for the last three years, but two of those my grandparents paid for everyone to go and the middle one was our honeymoon.

Also, we only live 40 minutes away from Port Canaveral so we can take advantage of deals without having to worry about airfare.

Hubby and I discussed Alaska. I think that would be awesome!! I'd like to wait till both kids are a bit older so they can remember the trip too.

Thank you, he's doing alright. I'm sure he still has sad moments to come, of course; but he's doing fine. I think he, his mom and brothers are mostly still in shock. Some saw it coming more than others but it was still a bit unexpected. It's nice to get back to normal this week though.

We do too. It was nice to use the kids program this time. DS only went twice, but he LOVED it! I let him have dinner up there one night and they close down Johnny Rockets for the kids and they have the restaurant all to themselves. He also did the PJ party and made a pillow case. It was so cute.

I've only done a Pacific Mexico cruise on Royal Caribbean and it was among the worst of the cruises I'd been on (small, old, nasty ship & grumpy workers). I've heard they are much better in the actual Caribbean though Wink I'm going to sound like a freak but DH's family cruises every year for Thanksgiving so I've also been on Norwegian, Princess, Carnival, and Holland America. I highly prefer Princess to the others, Norwegian dead last.

BTW, I'm jealous you went to Cozumel...what did you do?? We spent a week there pre-kids with friends in a rented house and had so much fun!

Not much this time honestly. Ate tacos at this great little stand we found on our honeymoon and shopped for a bit. Because of the pregnancy we couldn't go scuba diving and DH didn't want to go alone. We actually went back to the boat early and used the pool while no one was there. Wink

I can't believe you had a bad time on a Royal Caribbean cruise! Granted - I've only been to the Bahamas on RC, but I've gone 5 times with them...on different ships. But yes, if you have grumpy workers - it makes a big difference. And a smelly ship...ewww! I've heard Princess is really good. My grandmother ONLY cruises Princess so I know they're good because she's super high class and wouldn't deign to step foot on something beneath her LOL

Cancelled my doc appt today - I was throwing up the ENTIRE night. I'm so ready for this baby to come out Sad I've had m/s the entire time and it SUCKS
