The kids and I made sugar cookies tonight. I forgot to wear an apron and now my belly is covered in.....all sorts of baking ingredients. LOL.
I packed a cute lunch for DS tomorrow - heart shaped sandwich, and I even carved his apple slice in to a heart shape LOL. Ridiculous.
Last night DH and I booked our flights for our family to go to Phoenix...at Christmas time. LOL. Yeah, we booked over 10 months in advance. Found a killer deal! Since DS2 will be over 2 years old, he needs his own seat next Christmas, so we need 5 seats. That's like....$3500 usually. Managed to snag 5 round trip tickets from Edmonton to Phoenix for a total of $1700!!! DH feels so relieved because we wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise. My IL's have a bunch of places in Phoenix and we usually got down for Christmas every 2nd year. But now that our family is so big (holy cow, family of 6) it is getting so expensive! Glad we found those flights. DH just randomly decided to search for flights last night, haha.
YAY for having flights booked! SO exciting! Did you have to put baby's name on as your lap infant? LOL.
I'm just sitting here trying to find motivation to work on this terrible hat I said I'd make. It's a soccer ball...you have to make 26 little shapes and then sew them together. UGH. Why did I say I'd do this? I'm also watching a documentary on Auschwitz...so uplifting. LOL. Oh, and baby is wiggling like crazy!
Yay for a cruise - have a great time! Where are you going??
Heather: Oy, a soccer ball hat sounds like quite the project!
Sandra: Nice deal score! I know what you mean about flying a bigger family around being expensive - I'm already annoyed enough just paying for my DD right now, but DS will be 2 in July and then we'll have to pay for him too. How long is the flight to Phoenix from where you are?
Just hit me that I told DD I'd make her heart pancakes before school. Oops - better go!!
Yikes, a soccer ball hat??? Good thing you are crafty!
We will have a crappy day of traveling on December 23rd (stop in Calgary, stop in Denver, traveling for 8 hours) but not as crappy as some crazy trips we have done in the past! I didn't put baby's name in yet as a passenger - since you can't book lap infants online anyways, we will call and add him at a later date.....you know.....once he's actually born, and he has a name
Now I feel like I should make a cute breakfast! But I probably won't. LOL.
I need to get off my bottom and make DD's lunch. I had plans for heart things...we'll see how I do. :P
Yes, the soccer ball hat SUCKS. Projects like that are good de-motivators. :P
This trip is our first time paying for DD to fly, which is why I got an Alaska Airlines mastercard...for the companion fare! We're flying Seattle to Atlanta...my ticket was $509.61 and because DD can use the companion fare, she cost $99 plus tax! ($128.03 total for her). So for $637.64 we're both flying...then DH used some other airmiles we have and he just had to pay the tax, so like $36 or something for his ticket. I was SO happy to get that deal. Once this baby is 2 hubby will have to get an Alaska Airlines credit card so we get two companion fares. :P
Ohhhh, I need to get off my bottom here.
We had enough Aeroplan points for DH and 2 kids one way, but that put us on different flights. While I'm sure I would have survived the way there with new baby and my DD, I'm glad we found these flights and we can fly together!
That companion fare is awesome!
We had boring breakfast. I will try and do a fun lunch for DD....if I manage to get off MY rear.
Ya, hubby's points, Avion I think, allow him to book ANY flights. It's so awesome. So I was booking DD and I on one computer and he was next to me booking himself on his computer. We waited for each other at the seat selection page and got us all seated together! LOVE it!
DD had chocolate for breakfast. LMAO. Special day, right? :P
I'm not a big Valentine's person but DD wanted pancakes for breakfast yesterday and I wasn't in the mood so I told her I'd make heart shaped pancakes today for V-day, so I totally did it to myself. She ended up barely eating any because she'd rather chat (despite me telling her a thousand time to eat!!) so she went to preschool with barely any breakfast in her and when I picked her up I could tell she was really hungry and grumpy. Luckily, they had a V-day party so I'm sure she didn't notice until the second she got in the car and away from the excitement.
Took DS to Old Navy while DD was in school because I had a gift card and they're having a "big" baby sale...wasn't too impressed. I remember why I shop clearance ONLINE. I did find DS some PJs though (he's about grown out of his 18 month ones) and DD a sweater dress (she loves dresses but we own very few winter appropriate ones without a million layers that she hates). Then as we're walking out, DS sees a flower headband on the floor and literally just stood there pointing at it. I went back (was trying to walk away to get him moving again...clearly it didn't work) and he picked it up and said his sister's name and handed it to me. How could I not get it after that?! So he got her a Valentine's gift I guess. She needed another headband anyway as DS has broken most of hers in half.
