Christmas Breakfast...
What do ya'll make Christmas morning for breakfast?
I made this last year...but I wasn't a super fan. We didn't have the right sausage in Canada...so I used another brand. I think the sundried tomatoes is what I didn't like. I don't think I want to make it again. Anyone else have a good recipe?
Slow Cooker Sausage Breakfast Casserole - Recipes
I like the idea of the overnight crock pot breakfast but I did find it sucked when I woke at 4am and could smell it in my house. It smelled SUPER yummy!

I have never had to make breakfast on Christmas, so this will be a first. I will probably have sausage balls and some fruit. I am not planning on going all out, if you can tell!

Sausage balls? Like meatballs? I'm not sure I know what those are!

I have this pinned on Pinterest. Thought it looked interesting.

Kinda like meatballs, sorta. Down here in the southern US it is a popular Christmas time snack, or just a great party food.

I like this recipe, I use about half of the Bisquick.

Heather, I do a sweet Christmas bread, and a sausage egg bake. Basically, the Christmas bread (a recipe that has been passed down for years) is a sweet bread recipe with tiny bits of diced apple pieces in it. I make it a day or two a head of time. It's not hard at all to make, but it does require some time for the yeast to work, and the bread to rise. It makes two loafs. So, that is all set to go CHristmas morning, and then I just make a quick homemade frosting (powder sugar, butter, and milk) Christmas morning, so people can drizzle it on their individual slices. Oh, and I do warm of the bread before serving... SOOOOO Good!! Then, the egg and sausage bake is one that sits in the fridge overnight, and then you just bake it for about 40 minutes (I think???) Christmas morning. It consists of a layer of bread, then there is sausage, cheese, and a milk and egg mixture is poured over everything. So, there is very little work that I actually have to do to prepare food in the morning. I basically just get it all ready. If you want any of the recipes just let me know! :-)

I just checked out the recipe for those sausage balls - oh YUM!!!!!!!!!! I am so going to make those sometime!!!

That all sounds great Laurie. I've seen those recipes with eggs and bread. I think my mom made one once when I was younger. Isn't the bread basically gone when you go to eat it? It's not firm like French Toast.
I've never made a sweet bread. So do you cook it the day before then? Hummmm...that sounds really neat too! I had sweet bread in Hawaii and it was GOOD. We aren't really big bread eaters but it sounds good. Almost like an apple turnover.

I just shopped for Christmas morning last night. We'll have eggs, hashbrowns, croissants, sausage, and fruit salad. My mom always made punch to drink on Christmas morning (just orange juice and Sprite) so I decided to uphold that tradition. My kids don't ever drink pop/soda, so they will probably freak out about their juice that morning LOL!
