I have 4 students that were out sick today. and I know at least 1 of them is out with the flu. his whole family has it. EEK!!
Ugh! I couldn't tell you the last time I had the flu before the last 2 years. But since I've had a kiddo in preschool I've had it twice in the last 2 years. First time I was 33 wks pregnant with DS2. That was miserable!! I hope you can avoid it...kids share their germs way too much. I can't remember, what age do you teach?
I teach first graders.. so 6 and 7 yr olds. that like to be extra germy! I feel cruddy but Im praying its because I haven't slept well in a week and still have sinus congestion! it doesnt help that our cruddy nurse doesnt send sick kids home! some kids dont get fevers and therefore they stay in our classroom, despite that we as teachers who stare at them DAILY can tell they are sick! I did get a hold of one of our custodians (thank goodness for facebook!) and she went through and lysol-ed my room for me and was even nice enough to rehide the can for me! I will def remember to do it tomorrow before I leave again! (and if I can get away with it...while they are at lunch too!) (forgot today since I didnt realize I had flu in there) I have a flu shot on its way to the school this week for me. I was iffy, but Im goign to go ahead and get it since it is so rampant already and I hope its in time!
I was thinking you had little ones. Yeah, they really like to share their germs at that age. I was really thinking I should get the shot this year seeing as I've had it the last 2. I've never been one to get it but my exposure level has changed. I've been lazy though and just haven't gone to get the shot. My OB doesn't say anything about it either.
so today I had 5 kids out and one that was back and said she was throwing up REALLY bad all day yesterday... Um why are you in my room today then??!? 2 of my 3 that were out yestrday we know have flu. so it wouldnt surprise me if the others did too. We hit the magic number and they sent a flu letter home today. AND my flu shot came today before the cut off time for ordering one (I guess my second email stating that I was preg and have kids in my class with flu, how soon would I get it... worked. )
Patience, I think it takes 2 weeks to take effect!
