By one friggen point. Because I wasn't fasting. They can bite me.
They suggested I take the three hour, but that isn't going to happen at least not with them. If the midwife practice thinks I need to take it in a couple weeks then I will. But I honestly don't believe I have it. My weight gain is less than what I had gained last time, and I ate a bowl of cereal four hours before I drank the Glucola. I think it was the not fasting, I knew it was going to fail me for that. If it was something waaay over the one point then I would be worried but oh well.
Also the phlebotomist had the tourniquet on my arm for longer than a minute (and blew my vein) that can cause higher blood sugar in the sample as well.
Ok and I am going to worry even less now. I just called the lab, they don't even flag it for High until 180, mine was 136.
It was the one hour. When I had DS it was supposed to be fasting. If a patient called the lab to ask for instructions on the test we tell them to fast for at least 8 hours.
