We had our first midwife appt today. We had to have it fairly early to get everything done for the genetic testing. I forgot how long the first appt is. SO MANY QUESTIONS. I had to get a swap for Chlamydia and gonorrhea so they did a pap too. Oh so fun. The best part was the student midwife did the pap and couldn't find my cervix. Not only is it retroverted but it's also off to the side. DH 'got' to stay in the room for the pap. Good times. I need to go to the lab and give like 40 liters of blood, but I need to wait until I have to pee again as I guess I'm giving urine too. LOL. Oh, and they faxed off the requisition for my U/S so the lab will call me with a date soon. She asked for it between Oct 23-26 so that's soon!!!!! YAY!
All in all a good appt. She says she doesn't need to see me again for 7 weeks. LOL...so late November.
Oh, my blood pressure was seriously low (as usual). The big number was even under 100. LOL.
They gave me the VBAC pamphlet...so all systems are go for that if baby co-operates (DD was breech).
sounds like it went well! I hate how many tubes of blood they take at the first appointment. I have enough trouble keeping my iron up during pregnancy even without their "help"
DS1: 12.8.07: 7lbs 8oz, 20.5"
DS2: 8.12.09: 7lbs 9oz, 21"
DS3: 4.26.11: 6lbs 14oz, 19.5"
8.16.12 & 12.16.12
#4: due 10.18.13
I don't know how many vials they took from me. If I watch what they are doing, I start not feeling so well! I did notice her changing it a few times though. I also get low iron while pregnant, I always feel much better after they put me on supplements.
great appointment! and if I remember correctly the blood is really only at the beginning I think!
