You can freeze them in a container or on a sheet or in a pan etc. and then once they are frozen, transfer it into a bag. We like to freeze things in little silicon baking sheets, since then everything pops out so easily, and you can have single size servings. Think like a giant muffin tray, and each would hold a single serve of soup.

I froze a couple of soups with DD when I would make extra, but this time around I won't do much. We will have lots of help from my mom and others and so it's just not worth it. Plus my mom already has someone who helps with the cooking since she hosts the family so much (on top of all the babysitting and everything else she does!) And for the most part we eat pretty simple meals. Some friends/mommy group I'm in asked around if we would want help with meals within the community, but realistically with our diet restrictions it would just be too much to ask of people. So DH told them thanks for the offer, but not to bother.

I just cooked 7 pounds of ground beef and re-froze it. Now it's ready to use for anything and saves a ton of time because you don't have to pre-thaw. It'll warm right up in the skillet in just a few minutes. So that is one idea if you don't have a recipe ready right now.

Vegetable beef soup Filling for tacos! I usually do ground meat, whole or refried beans (black/pinto) some taco seasoning and a little water. Then I cool and freeze!

I think these containers are a bit big for just plain cooked meat. I like that idea though!

    Off to browse Rachel's pinterest!
