Thread: GAH!

Daycare just called. DD finally got lice. I want to cry. It has been going around daycare forever but we have always avoided it. Sounds like she got it before our trip. Now I have to go buy a bunch of chemical crap and pick her up early. This sucks.

Oh Heather, that does suck!!! None of my kiddos have ever had it, but it's a nightmare to get rid of from what I understand. All bedding, clothes, stuffed animals, etc. all need to be washed and even bagged up for a month in some cases to get rid of those critters. My friend did all that, the lice were gone, and then a month later one of those critters found it's way back into one of her kid's heads. So not fun!

I know. Totally sucky. They said you could freeze the stuffies too, so that's an option. The worse part is I'm really against chemical treatments...but she can't go back to daycare until the live ones are dead...which means chemicals.

ICK! I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Poor you and poor K

I had lice twice when I was a kid. I also had really really long, thick hair. My mom used that comb on about 10 strands of hair at a time. UGH man I remember how LONG that took. Good luck!

We had it a lot too, having 3 of us in show choir and many activities where you just pile coats and the same people do e early ones hair didn't help.
