Going Bonkers *update orig. post*

Phew.

I found out on October 22nd that I was pregnant and I STILL DO NOT HAVE A DUE DATE! Gah. SO over this limbo state.

I didn't even have a doctor (we moved here 6 months ago) when I found out so first I had to find a doctor, get an appt, then he sent me to the lab for bloodwork to confirm the pregnancy. I had my labwork done on Oct. 31. And the Dr. office has STILL not called back with my results or an appt for me! The Dr. told me to wait for their office to call with an appt time for a prenatal checkup pending on my lab results. I was going to call the office on Friday to ask but I was running around like a madwoman all day, SUPER busy. I was going to call tomorrow (they are closed weekends) and then I realized it is a holiday. I need to see a doctor again so they can get me an U/S! At this rate we won't even know a due date for another couple weeks. It's driving me bonkers.

UPDATE Nov. 13
Well I am just beyond frustrated. Obviously I need to find a different doctor. I hate that I am in a new city dealing with this. I called the office and told them I had my labs done 2 weeks ago, but was told to wait for a call from them to book an appt to discuss my results. The receptionist said they only call me if the doctor wants to see me about the results, and he never said he wanted to see me to discuss them. So......I am not pregnant, and that's why he never told them to call? What other logical explanation would there be for him to completely ignore my results and not ask to see me? She said "So, did you want to book an appt?" I said "Uh.....yeah, I guess so." So now I am going to go see this guy on Friday, get my official results and give him a piece of my mind. He specifically said, "We'll get your blood work results and call you to book a prenatal appointment, at which time I can worry about sending you for an ultrasound." So honestly, if my results were positive, what earthly reason would there be not to call me back????? So, what, they are negative, and I got 3 false positives and I'm currently growing an abdominal tumor????????? GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is crazy making!! I have an u/s tomorrow though, so maybe your Dr is open? Worth a shot!!

Honestly, if you want an ultrasound sooner... say you are spotting. They will usually get you in within a week. Yes, not honest, but if I were in your position I might consider it. The longer you wait on the ultrasound the less accurate your dd will be. Also, since you tend to go overdue, if they say you are 3-5 days ahead of where you really should be, or even a week, then when you are supposedly a week overdue, you would actually only be at your dd. Since you have had some big babies in the past, it certainly wouldn't be out of the question for you to already be measuring a few days ahead.

Get a midwife. Seriously. They are free for us in Canada and much better personalized care. They listen to YOU and care about you.

*hugs* I can imagine this must be so hard for you. I know I'd be going batty!

We have a private ultrasound clinic here...do you have one there? They might do dating u/s? Just an idea.

The reason for no due date is I haven't had a PP period since my last baby 11 months ago.....we caught the first eggie!

You know, I totally would get a midwife if I was AT ALL inclined to birth naturally :) But I'm epidural-happy. Ha ha ha ha.

I think there are private U/S places here. There weren't in our old city. Just can't see shellin' out the bucks.

Can you not get an epi with a midwife? I've never been told you can't....

I had a C-section with a midwife! She temporarily handed my care over to an OB who did the surgery and checked on me a few times afterwards. The midwife did ALL the care to do with DD and my recovery. She even came to the c-section, wheeled me down the hall.

I would call them every five minutes until someone answered my questions!
