Good Appointment

I had my OB appointment today. Pretty "boring" (which is great in my book!). He said my uterus feels right as it should for this point and baby popped right up on his doppler at 158 BPM. I also got to book my "big" ultrasound, although they couldn't get me in for 5 more weeks so I'll be just shy of 20 weeks. But in my mind, that gives me an extra week to try to get DH on board with staying team green Wink Or at least one more week of suspense for me if he won't budge. I think they were surprised when I didn't push for an earlier date (haha).

I did find out from my doc that they DO have the baby's sex written in my paperwork which means he'll know and any nurse who works with me will know and that makes me nervous someone will slip. So that's something to consider. Anyway, good, easy appointment!

Yey for a good appointment. Ashley, since you have one of each gender are you hoping for one gender more than the other?

I'm so excited to be team green...and my midwife loves it too! She says it's so fun to find out at the birth. I can't wait!

Glad you had a good appointment. My doctor won't do ultrasounds before 20 weeks period.

Not really! I go back and forth. I'd love to give my daughter a sister since I always wanted one (I was an only child "technically"...got some half siblings much later in life), and who doesn't love dressing baby girls?! But on the other hand, my DD has one cousin very close in age who is a girl whereas my DS has no one close to his age & likely won't so it would be nice to have a boy so he has another little guy to play with. Plus my DS is my little buddy and I'd love another one. So it's a win-win either way Biggrin

Karen: I was 100% like that with both my other kids and HAD to know as soon as possible! Nothing wrong with that either Wink

My OB and nurse knew before Dom was born. No one ever slipped and it was a total surprise for us. It's not their first time doing a surprise so I'm sure they will keep the secret for you guys. If you choose to do so. Hopefully you are able to convince DH Wink

Oh and yay for a good and "boring". Appointment!

Yes, boring means good appointment. I hope you can convince DH. I loved being team green...I'll be sad for you if you don't get to do it.

Well, I hope you can convince DH to go team green! I've had my "20 week ultrasound" a little earlier before, but I think they prefer it right at 20 weeks if possible!

My midwife told me they do it earlier than 20 weeks if you don't want to know the gender....but at 20 weeks or later if you want to know. Not sure...

My OB's office is pretty flexible. I've had my previous two at 17 1/2 and 18 1/2 weeks. Just all depends on what works out with your every four week schedule and the u/s tech's schedule because she only comes in once a week. It'll be fun to see a 20 week baby this time though Smile
