Good luck with your Midwife appointment tomorrow! I hope it goes just the way you want it to.
Thank you! It will probably be pretty uneventful. We'll likely hear baby on the doppler but since I have one it's not that exciting for me. The midwife has never heard the baby though so she might like it. Hopefully the student midwife doesn't get her hands on me again. If a student ever wants to do your vaginal swabs, say no...it takes them longer.
Good luck tomorrow!!
I (stupidly) agreed to let an OB student stitch my perineal tear with dd1. Ouch. Hope all goes well tomorrow!!
Good luck! I love boring appointments when everything is going smoothly.
Have a great appt!
Eeesh! With baby #1, the OB was going to let the student do the stitching, but then changed his mind. Thank goodness. Especially with baby #1 - that was my worst as far as damage in the nether-regions.
Good luck tomorrow Heather!
Hi, just thought I'd update here...the appt was fine. Boring. Peed in the cup, dipped the stick, all looks good. Weighted myself on their scales which are higher than mine. She did my BP which is very low as usual. We heard the HB with the doppler (160s). She faxed off the big u/s request for 18 weeks+. Then we talked about the CVS.
Our next appt is booked for my birthday which is over the Christmas break for K's daycare...so she will get to come. The midwife has seen her once since she was 6 weeks, so I'm sure she'll be glad to see her.
Oooh yay for the big u/s being booked!
Your comment about the doppler made me laugh. When I went in for my 16 week appt, the m/w (who is actually part of my OB's office) brought in the same exact doppler I use and explained she was going to try to find the heartbeat. I was like oh! I have that doppler and I've found it! She kinda semi-preached at me for having a doppler... but she found the heartbeat IMMEDIATELY whereas back then I had to search for it. She can preach all she want - that doppler has been awesome to have.
Im glad it went well even tho it was boring.

Ya, our midwife didn't really like that we had one last time (with DD). She warned us about not using too often. Because of that, I just don't mention it a lot at appts. DH brought it up yesterday though...ugh.
I don't bring mine up either. Not that I think my OB would really have anything to say about it (he rarely does about much) but I've weighed the risks and don't want to be preached to.
Glad you had a good but boring appointment. I don't mention my doppler to my OB either. I guess i don't think it worth the preaching.
